Now if Skelton has a good year we can start to look at him. We all so got Roberts and Schofield coming up to. _________________

Great news!
I actually think we'll see more signings like this of young players from all teams. I think it's one of the benefits of the new rookie pay scale...freeing up cash to keep players who perform well (and fan favorites) on the team, which can only be good for the sport. Of course, there will still be free agency moves, but teams will be better able to show appreciation to their homegrown talent. That's a win-win in my book. _________________

People can say anything they want about this team, this coaching staff, this front office and the franchise in general but the one thing they can't say is that we're cheap, that we don't spend money on our homegrown talent. Adrian, Larry (Twice), Darnell, Calais, D-Wash. All drafted Cardinals, all got big money extensions within the last 5 years. The days of frugality are over. THEY ARE OVER!!!
LSH should be next. Won't be a huge contract but he's next in my eyes. _________________

I love this news...but before I get too excited, it would be nice to see the finnacials.
to be honest, I do not really care all that much, because I think washington is worth quite a bit to our organization. _________________

Very big move. I'm glad D-Wash doesn't have to think about it anymore.
Campbell,Washington,Peterson are a nice young defensive core but that doesn't even include Dan Williams, Acho, Fleming and the other young guys that could still explode. |

I still dream at night about how good this defense would look if we had taken Luke Kuechly... _________________

Well you can rest easy knowing he went 4 spots ahead of us. If he went after us and turned into something special I'd lose sleep. |

Profootballtalk said we had about $10 mil in cap space still available, before the deal.
Wonder how much went to DW this year? |

Timmons got 6/50 after his 3rd year. I'm guessing D-Wash gets around 40... 7M per I'm fine with if we structure it wisely like DJ alluded to. _________________

Word is that this deal includes 32 million in "new" money.
5-6 years at 32 million? For D-Wash? If true, that's highway robbery. _________________

Absolutely. That is such a steal considering that Dansby's contract was 5 years $43 with 22 guaranteed. This is a much better contract and I am very glad that the Cardinals were able to get him signed to an extension. _________________
