|
|
|
My beef with all the existing survivor games is that everyone is eliminated too quickly. So I decided to create a survivor game that's challenging and yet allows everyone to last deep into the season.
Here are the rules:
- You must pick exactly one winner every week.
- You may not pick any team to win more than once
- You may not pick any team to lose more than once.
- Every loss or tie counts as a strike.
- Failure to get your pick in prior to kickoff of the first game in any week counts as a strike, and you have to pick two winners the following week.
- Three strikes and you're out.
- Last player standing wins.
- In the event of a tie, the first tiebreaker is the best combined won-lost records of the teams each player picked to lose. If it's still tied after that the remaining players will keep picking until a winner is decided.
Just to clarify: you are predicting the outcome of exactly one game each week. The team you pick to win that game is your "winner" and the team you pick to lose is your "loser". If you are wrong you get one strike against you. You cannot pick your winner to win again and you cannot pick your loser to lose again.
For example, if you pick the Vikings over the Jaguars in Week 1 you may not pick the Vikings to win again or the Jaguars to lose again. In the remote chance that the Jaguars win you will get a strike against you.
Because we're very close to the Wednesday game already the Week 1 deadline will be extended to Sunday for this week only. That is, you may pick the Cowboys or Giants if you get your pick in prior to kickoff of that game, but otherwise the deadline is prior to kickoff of the early games on Sunday.
Every week we will have a list of remaining players with their winners, losers and strike total.
Suggestions and comments are welcome. _________________

| I am willing to let this game remain open as long as your willing to keep up with it on a weekly basis. Sounds like an interesting concept. |

Oops. Let me clarify.
You pick one winner. That's it. Whatever team they are playing against is the team you're picking to "lose".
For example, if you pick the Vikings to beat Jacksonville in Week 1, you cannot pick another team to beat Jacksonville later in the season.

i see... so you would have two strikes against you if you pick a team to win, who then loses that week's matchup.
you going to keep track of all this for us? _________________

Once more from the top.
You are predicting the outcome of exactly one game each week. The team you pick to win that game is your "winner" and the team you pick to lose is your "loser". If you are wrong you get one strike. You cannot pick your winner to win again and you cannot pick your loser to lose again.
I should probably post the above paragraph in the rules section.
