While I think you put a lot of effort into this GM draft there really isn't a need for this much turnover. We have a solid team and given the fact you've made so many changes, all I can think is the eagles "dream team"

Draft is good. Fills a lot of our primary needs. But trading half our young team for older veterans wasn't necessary.

You traded Turbin for a 4th? Confused

Yea I didn't really start paying any attention to the Seahawks until they got hot there at the end, so I just looked at his stats (he was getting sub 4.0 a carry at the time) and figured he was a run of the mill back. I later realized that was a mistake Sad

I don't think I really blew up the team...

Brandon Browner = He was obviously a contributor. Biggest guy that was moved.
Alan Branch = A FA this offseason. Solid contributor.
Matt Flynn = No point in hanging on to him.
Robert Turbin = Solid Back behind the main guy.
Leon Washington = On the way out anyway I think
Leroy Hill = Needed to be upgraded
Marcus Trufant = With Sherm, Smith, Lane, Maxwell, Arrington, Thurmond and Sweeting there's not much room for him.
Anthony McCoy = Was upgraded up on, so no room.

It's basically equivalent to a typical FA class for a team.

But yea I see a what you're saying, I made a ridiculous amount of moves.

jfinley88

pretty good job. like the first 2 picks especially in the draft. don't like the turbin trade (and therefore there is no need for the bjge trade).

In his 1st mock draft Mel Kiper has us taking John Jenkins DT Georgia.

ew. He's a space eater. Not that he isn't a good player, but he's far from the kind of DT we want

General Priorities for Off-Season

1. DL - Run Defense first, then Pass Rush - Follow the Giants model and stack the Defensive Line. Resign Jason Jones, and significantly increase competition at all DL positions. Put everyone on notice.

2. Offensive Line - Fix inconsistencies at right guard and increase depth/competition.

3. Adding offensive weapons and increasing WR depth for Russell Wilson - A deep threat, reliable pass catching TE, another RB, possibly more of a change of pace back.

4. Cornerback - Replace Marcus Trufant, increase depth and competition at cornerback for Nickel coverage and in case we can't resign both Browner and Sherman in the next 1-2 years.

5. LB - Replace Leroy Hill if not resigned or add depth behind Malcolm Smith if he's ready.

6. QB - If Matt Flynn leaves, develop a couple young QBs that have the mental makeup to take advantage of having Russell Wilson as an example. Whether they can run like Russell Wilson to me is irrelevant. Its already hard enough finding a good NFL QB. Also, not interested in bringing in a veteran.

7. Kicker - Resign Steve Hauschka or maybe find someone in draft.

Here you go:

Quote:
Analysis: John Schneider and Pete Carroll showed great instincts in the 2012 draft, adding players they felt could help them immediately, even as analysts (myself included) questioned slot value. The defense was very good this past season, but I think an interior defender who can occupy blockers, occasionally penetrate and even wreck the pocket from the inside is a need. Jenkins was a little uneven at times in 2012, but has the upside of an impact interior lineman.

I would be happy with Terrence Williams or Justin Hunter for WR at 25. For other positions. I would say a Dline would be awesome too. I think we defiantly go WR DL OLB in the first

My man crush this year is Ezekiel Ansah. That man is a beast, and has an incredible amount of potential. He is 6' 6" and has sprinters speed and superb athleticism. He is also very versatile, and could play where Big Red is playing right now, or replace Jason Jones as a 5-tech and provide some interior pass rush.

Ill just go through and rattl off my favorite prospects at positions of need, in order.

WR:
Justin Hunter
Cordarelle Patterson
Terrance Williams

WLB:
Sean Porter
Chase Thomas
Kam Chancellor Very Happy

DL:
Ezekiel Ansah
Sheldon Richardson
Daton Jones (great fit, but Im torn on how I like him as a prospect)

Havent scouted Guard or Right Tackle yet.

As long as kiper knows what a POS he is.......

John Jenkins is a round 2 type player. I think he has simular skill set as Branch but lacks the pentatration Branch creates. BIG. STRONG. Hard to move off the line. but wont put up any real stats in his career.

Dont like this pick. DT is SOOOOO deep this year. we can afford to wait a little bit on DL
