I've been keeping my eye on him lately because if we end up picking in the 10-20 range he could be there. He's under a lot of scrutiny this year and guys with better physical tools like EJ Manuel or Tyler Bray could jump him. Also there aren't many teams that will be looking for a QB in the next draft. Maybe Jacksonville, definitely the Chiefs, and maybe the Bills and Raiders but one of them will end also end up with Smith. After Geno Smith, I'd love to have Barkley on this team. I think he could be very good here. Not elite but very good and without the injury concerns. Somewhere between Matt Ryan and Andy Dalton. |
If manuel gets drafted before Barkley, I will swim to the USA
Manuel is 2nd rnd at best |
He's a guy that is gonna rise up the boards. He's got the best size of any of the top QBs (6'4" 240), strong arm, mobility, good character, and he's leading an explosive offense. He's gonna get some Heisman consideration if he beats Miami too.
Another guy I like is Aaron Murray. He's the best QB in the SEC right now. He's got a great arm and good mobility. He'd be a top 10 pick if he was 2 inches taller. |

We talking collegiate QB or NFL Prospect. If it is the latter Bray and Wilson over Murray.
Murray lack(ed) a few things when I looked at him last season. Might have improved, but I don't see a great NFL QB in him and it does not have anything to do with his height. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Manuel is not going to rise up boards, his tape is crap.
Watch the Miami game today, some lovely passes, then with about 5 to go, throws into double coverage and floats it there. I had visions of DA, ML all over again.
Murray is good, height hurts him a bit, if he keeps playing well, he goes above Barkley.
Bray needs another year, Wilson needs not to be hurt.
Smith's stock took a beating last 2 weeks, still only 1 pick so far, that is still pretty special, might be the system, making him look good. |

FSU obviously had the spread to cover and money on the game.
Horrific first half, didnt get out of 2nd gear all game.
Christian Jones FSU LB looked real good.
Manuel not so much, he should have dominated, only started to show glimses real late with some runs and 1 nice pass to Benjamin. |

Murray is not a first round QB. He has the fatal flaw for QB's he panics under pressure. That is more deadly than not enough arm strength. Maybe panics is harsh, but if you force him to reset his base his mechanics break down and his accuracy and velocity falls off a cliff. If you give him a clean pocket and spot to throw from he is good, otherwise...
I like Smith, Barkley, Wilson, Nassib, Dysert and Jones above him as Senior QB's. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I suffered throw Syracuse - Uconn the other day
Nassib can play, his team stinks though, hard to work out how good he is or isnt.
Jones is Matt Leinhart a few year apart, wouldnt touch him with a 40 ft pole.
His teammates make him look better than he is, kind of the anti Jake Locker. |

Most important thing - Scout the player not the teammates, not the scheme, not the box score, not the end product. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Most Nole fans think Jimbo is a bad game coach. He can recruit like nobodies business. Those FAMU co-eds get the job done
Always seems like FSU underachieves given their talent... _________________

Fisher's playcalling is like our OC Millers, real poor and baffling some times.
he has been getting better.
Better OL this year, has helped.

Marcus Lattimore will be done for the year after suffering a major knee injury against Tennessee today. It looked really bad like Willis McGahee at Miami bad. Gotta feel for the kid as this is a devastating blow. _________________

That was gruesome. The way his leg twisted reminded me of EJ Henderson against us a few years back. He will probably use a medical redshirt next season and comeback in his 5th season. _________________
