| Well deserved but at the same time there must not have been any standouts this week in the AFC. |

Yes, but like the guy said most weeks there's some guy like JJ Watt with 3 sacks and 2 passes defensed to go along with a heap of tackles.
It was a good game from Houston, but it must have been a light week. |

Yes this is what I meant. No incredible beast mode guys this week. Very good game for Houston though and made game winning plays. |

That Houston DL bullied the Ravens, even though they didn't get the (all important) stats they batted down so many passes and caused Flacco to rush and make poor decisions all day.
Was really impressed with the Steelers shutting A J Green down too, Ike Taylor did a great job........but no stats!!!
Fair play to Houston though, he played well throughout, got the sack and the fumble effectively put us in position to win the game. Hopefully it bolsers his confidence and he kicks on from here. _________________ “It may take us a short while, but we'll get that nastiness of the Raiders back.”

Yea its been a light week, but that forced fumble really helped. Guy had probably his best game of his career. Hope he keeps it going rather than the usual disappearing act our DLine does. _________________

I'm actually inclined to think he will keep it up. Talk all camp and preseason about Houston and him being 20 pounds lighter, how he was a maniac. Now that it's showed up in games, actual consecutive games, maybe just maybe the light has come on for him in a real way.
He's the biggest individual difference in the defense from the last two weeks when the defense looked decent again like at SD. There have been other factors, but he's been the biggest step up.
Finally, a hustle player making some plays for us that have had an actual impact on D. More than anything it's the consistent impact that we lack and why none of our defenders are upper echelon. Many of them are capable of a good game, but none of them have shown to be capable of what the great players in the game are capable of. Consistent consecutive games where they show up and make plays. Things like 8 games in a row with a sack, or a 6 game 12 sack run, or batting down 14 passes in a year, etc. etc. Or just any sort of maniacal run of great play that lasts more than a quarter... |

It helps having Carter also. They have to gameplan for both and Houston gets some rest. Im sure a high motor guy like Houston needs some rest. |

It does help. Tollefson took some snaps, but Crawford was taking almost none as the 4th DE. With Carter there Houston and Shaughnessey can actually be in full rotation. |

Light week or not, it's nice to see Houston get recognition on a personal standpoint for all of the hard work & hustle he brings to every game.
He always come so close to making a play, but last week he actually had his way & executed. _________________
