Wasn't sure where to put this so I thought this would work best.

Was this the year that the league was going to force all players to where knee pads? I thought that was coming up this year, or is that a college thing? Just a random thought on my slow Friday at work.. Brick wall

Plenty of NFL players are griping about the looming requirement that they wear leg pads in 2013. The reigning league MVP doesn’t want to hear that leg pads reduce player speed.

“I’ll call BS on that,” Peterson told Mike Garafolo of FOXSports.com. ”It’s like, ‘You’re a National Football League player. If a pad that doesn’t weigh but a couple of ounces slows you down, you don’t need to be playing in this league.’ Like, come on now. Seriously.”

So what’s the real reason for the resistance?

“Guys like to be pretty, not wear the thigh pads and knee pads, but it protects you,” Peterson said. ”There have been plenty of times I got hit in my knee and when I had my pants pulled up too high and that pad wasn’t there to protect it. It didn’t feel good. So I make sure I keep my pads pulled down and covering my knee just to be able to protect my body.”

so, you guys will not believe this. I haven't been posting a lot because I've been in California visiting family all summer. While in San Francisco on Pier 39 at a rock and roll/ sports memorabilia store, I saw a flip book and flipped it open to a random picture. Guess who I opened it to? Johnny Manziel. I could not believe it for the life of me.

Ive been to that sports store on Pier 39! Kind of a crammed space, with lots of stuff over multiple floors.

I just addressed it to "middle of nowhere, west of ND". we'll see what happens. Also, snapping turtle isn't the most reliable carrier.

does anyone have any experience with repairing/patching leaking pipes? I have a T-fitting that has a very small leak (~1 drip per 5 minutes), but it was enough to cause mold to start growing on the bathroom ceiling below it. I took out a small piece of the ceiling to investigate, and found this joint.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/82fledpfz3an6yi/2013-08-24%2013.54.36.jpg

It looks like the joint at the top of the T-fitting is where the leak is, so I was thinking of just wrapping that joint in epoxy putty and maybe a rubber sleeve and pipe clamp. I REALLY don't want to cut out the fitting and solder in a new one. Does anyone have any plumbing experience? Would a putty seal be adequate here?

[UMN], what you want to fix that situation is a Sharkbite fitting.

don't go the route of using epoxy butter and a clamp, my gawd man that's a medievel method of plumbing.

Sharkbite fittings simply push fit on to copper, Pex, or PVC pipe and require no tools (other than cutting away the damaged section of the old pipe) as they are pressure fittings. they're MADE for repairs just like the one you are describing.

looking at your pics, you might have to add in short lengths of Pex piping (available at all hardware and home remodeling stores) to give you the added flexibility you will need to make the connections fit together. but the same fitting can be used to splice your old copper and the new Pex.

here's a YouTube vid showing how simple it is:
