^Then perhaps we could change the thread title to the more descriptively accurate "Ask Anything Non-Football Related"? _________________ "No one can disguise mediocrity better than Bill Belichick." |

I always wonder how well the Vikings would have done if they had stuck with Rich Gannon. For whatever reason Burns and Green didn't care for him. As we saw later on in his career in Oakland he was a pretty gifted QB. When the back and forth between Gannon, Salibury, and Wilson was going on and the coaches changed week to week on who they wanted to start I remember rooting for Gannon. He wore Montana's number and I thought his name was cool.

I feel like the Vikings are the team every big play worth remembering goes against. The RG3 run a few weeks ago was also a big reminder of that. _________________

Gannon just wasn't that good until very late in his career. His best season as a Viking was 1991, when he threw for 2,166 yards and had a passer rating of 81.5. Then he regressed the following years and the Vikings decided that six years was enough, so they cut bait.
Gannon didn't have his first big season until 1997, at age 32. _________________

watching prime moss every day for 7 years is as good as it gets without winning a super bowl, though. Still, I know it sucks. You had the greatest receiver of all time for 7 years of breathe taking play. You have had the best running back in a decade for the past 5 years. Moss seemed destined to lead the Vikes to several rings. Peterson looked like the kind of runner who could carry a team on his back.
You will get there one day. _________________

I would be so happy if we went back to these jerseys. |

I was looking up receiving records to see if Harvin’s 55 games in a row with a reception to start a career was some sort of record, and I found this gem:
Longest gap between receptions 17 years and 4 weeks (275 games) Brett Favre _________________
