If we are going Beatles, I would say "A Day in the Life" is their greatest musical achievement.

"Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan deserves a mention, as does "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zep.

Don't Stop Believing by Journey instantly comes to mind.

Others off the top of my head:
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
Let It Be - The Beatles

Billie Jean by Michael Jackson instantly comes to mind for me. A number of other Michael Jackson songs can rank quite high too, not just for great songs, but from a performance standpoint and what he did for the entire music industry (music videos).

I can't articulate my distaste for Journey.

Hey Jude-The Beatles or Yellow Ledbetter- Pearl Jam come to mind

I don't dislike Journey you'll have a hard time convincing me that Don't Stop Believing isn't the most overrated song ever.

I'm not a fan of Journey, but I break out laughing every time I watch Steve Perry...or the Asian Steve Perry. Laughing

I feel the same way about Rush, Pink Floyd and the Doors but for some reason people still love them.

Eddie Vedder's rendition of "Break On Through" was one of the best I've ever heard in comparison to Jim Morrison.
