1. It's a bit of a random amount.
2. Is this not his first "offence"
3. It's not even helmet to helmet (would be more serious) |
$21k is the minimum for an illegal hit to a defenseless player. It's up 5% from last year's $20k minimum. |
Ok, fair enough. For some reason I thought there was a $5k, $10k etc progression. _________________

I think there was at one point. _________________

He's living in the basement of Kyle Rudolph's home probably for very cheap. He's got the money to pay the fine. _________________

$21,000 could have gone towards a down payment of a house, Goodell working his magic for you |

Rodney WAS dirty because he targeted player's knees.
Just like Louis Delmas now does.
I find it very disturbing that 2 guys looking for work today, Jordan Shipley and Ovie Mughelli, are doing so because of cheap hits into their knees last year.
Hits that came on free shots, where the pass-catcher was defenseless, turning around & planting, and their brothers on defense instead of a simple tackle, or even a hard shot to the hand-arm area or chest, decided to drill them in their knees. Those are p*ssy hits and I want whoever does those hits to encounter trouble afterwards. _________________ "It's the same old Jay," Woodson told ESPN afterward. "We just need to be in position. 1.2% of his entire deal. |
And? It's not like he gets his entire deal's worth immediately. That's a considerable amount of change for someone who isn't a top paid player. _________________

I was agreeing with you. 1.2% of 4 years worth of an average US salary is like $1,200.
I don't want to pay $1,200, and it hurts even more that I won't even see all the money for 4 years. _________________

i'm not sure you guys have his contract dollars right and the value of his "entire deal."
according to the link provided below, Smith signed a 4-year contract for $7,138,546 with guaranteed dollars of $5,775,000. so 1.2% of his entire contract would be over $85,000.
$21,000 is more like 0.003% of his contract, right? 3 tenths of one percent?
