the hit was his shoulder to the head and neck area of a defenseless player (a wr).
at least it wasn't helmet to helmet, or even leading with his helmet.
Smith looks very good so far - smart and physical.

not so sure about that, but yeah, 21 grand is nothing to blow off.
Smith makes a base salary of $390,000 in 2012 and has a signing bonus of $3.6 million, which has already paid him $907,918 this year alone.

I know, but Rodney Harrison was known as a somewhat dirty player. Dirty isn't really the right word, but I think you get my point.

$21k is the minimum for an illegal hit to a defenseless player. It's up 5% from last year's $20k minimum.
