Gametime is coming up in a few minutes...
The Rams will apparently be playing their starters three series into the 3rd quarter... meaning our backups will get plenty of time to compete against starter quality opponents.
Players that need a strong game:
OLB, Sergio Kindle- Not a lock to make the squad, he could benefit his chances and playing time with a strong showing against the Rams.
WR, Deonta Thompson- I think he makes the team, but he's been cooling off as of late and a nice performance in this game will be necessary.
QB, Curtis Painter- He'll need to deliver a pretty good game to ensure that he makes the team as the #3 QB.
RB, Damien Berry- It's possible that the team carries 4 RBs, but Berry will have to play a spectacular game. Anthony Allen is unlikely to make the roster IMO. I'd consider Rainey a lock outside of a HORRIBLE performance.
S, Omar Brown- He needs to continue to make plays to make the team. He's probably going to make the squad as long as he doesn't tank.
There are more key names obviously, but these are some of the more prominent ones. _________________

Jimmy Smith better win the #2 CB job. He's definitely the superior cover guy. _________________

He needs to change his cleats and stop losing his footing _________________

Agreed. But even with him slipping I'd rather have that then Cary who seems to be doing his best Samari Rolle impression and giving a guy 15 yards in coverage.. _________________

Why is Pierce on kick returns? He seems absolutely wrong for that.
Not a knock on him a player; I like him as a RB, but he's a lock to make the team, and guys like Thompson and Rainey need the looks and are frankly much better KRs.
Maybe they aren't important enough, and our coaches get their thrills from potentially seeing key players get hurt on these plays, even when they aren't any better than the reserves at it...

I'm sure they want KO to get his reps at right tackle rather then left. However, I'm not sure why Harewood is playing guard rather then tackle. _________________

When you are a bad team and with a new set of WR"s you need to get all the reps you need. Sam needs to build more chemistry with our WR's.

Yeah I caught that error as well. Hilarious.
I don't get why Harbaugh has our backup RB returning kickoffs... It's so dumb. Pierce just came back from a hamstring injury and we're having him take such a pounding when we have other capable, less important players that can return kicks. _________________

| The special teams decisions made by Harbaugh and/or Rosburg have been pretty terrible while both guys have been with the Ravens. Putting Pierce back there is something that especially irks me because he's a guy that has a history of minor yet limiting injuries and putting back as a kick returner is about the last spot you would want him in. This is pretty much my only major complaint against Harbaugh (or Rosburg, but I think he needs to go regardless). I like him a lot as the head coach but the only trustworthy thing about the special teams is Koch. Something needs to change here. |

| Ayanbadejo is the worst player on the field with us playing all backups. I don't see him being worth a roster spot. |
