I think we all know the 6th/7th TEs and the 9th/10th DBs in camp are virtually locks to be cut in this initial cutdown to 75, but I'm sure there will be a few mild surprises and possibly one large surprise (Neal?)
So who gets cut in this 90 man to 75 (15 people) and are there any surprises?
As far as I know (and remember) after this preseason week, I think next tuesday, we must cut from 90 to 75. _________________

This is the same time that we cut Brett Swain loose so he could have a bit of time with a new team. Possible that we let Gurley or Brad Jones go now? _________________ GO PACK GO!

That is possible, especially considering the depth at WR, and what happened with Gurley last year. I'm sure TT & MM feel Tori would deserve that, giving him time to catch on with someone else, perhaps a Cleveland or Miami. _________________ "It's the same old Jay," Woodson told ESPN afterward. | I've had Shaky Smithson penciled in as "the first cut at roster cutdown time" since September of last year, and I see no reason to deviate from this. |

I'd be SHOCKED if Neal was cut. He is suspended the first 4. He won't count against the roster until week 5 of the season. It'd be pointless to cut him unless we really didn't think he had ANY future in the NFL. Especially considering he knows the playbook and would be better than almost any street FA coming in week 5 for an injured starter... _________________

I think the first round of cuts is "guys you're not even interested in putting on the PS", so I would be surprised to see guys like Lawrence Guy, Brandian Ross, Otis Merril, and Dale Moss in the first round of cuts. |

Hoese could stick around also with Kuhn being banged up. He's the only fullback on the roster. (I haven't seen MM talking about Crabtree or any other TE playing FB in the meantime...although they can.) _________________

1) Woodson
2)Williams
3)Burnett
4)Bush
5)House
6)Doc Jennings
7)Shields
8)Levine
9)McMillian
10)Hayward
Totally nitpicking here but I don't see any "virtual locks" to be cut. Im curious to see who you were refering to. There is even a few more who I would list as priority PS candidates such as:
11) Richardson
12)Ross
I'd be SHOCKED if either of those two were cut at the initial trim down. Even Otis Merrill getting cut initally would surprise me as of right now.
IMO I can see TT and co. keeping 10 maybe 11 DB on this roster. Overkill at DB maybe, but this is a deep group.

What about Cooper? IMO he's a better bet than Hoese to stick on this roster. He's seen more snaps with the 1's this preseason. Hoese has been too banged up to participate. Personally, I don't really forsee either staying on the active roster but maybe Cooper finds a spot on the PS. |

Per reports on twitter, only Bostick and Finley practiced out of the TE group today. I would be very surprised if Bostick gets cut in the initial round simply because of the numbers at the position.
Is Gurley still hurt? Didn't see him listed, but with his size I would think he might get some scout looks at TE. Instead So'Oto and Richardson are filling in. Am I reading too much into it, or is our offseason darling to make the squad very close to being cut? _________________ GO PACK GO!
