Powell makes the team. It sends a bad message if he doesn't. He'll cemente that tonight.
Urban has Haggans and Williams over Groves. That's perhaps the dumbest thing I've heard all preseason.
Do you watch the games Darren Urban?
One of those tackles will be gone next week. _________________

How does cutting Powell send a bad message? I don't buy that one bit.
Smith has had just as solid a preseason and he actually contributes on special teams, wjhich I've yet to see Powell do. I think Smith's a slam dunk call. Powell's just a guy who beat up on 3rd-4th stringers. _________________

I just don't think it would sit well with the team that you release a guy who's had this kind of preseason and camp.
It's not Powells fault that his number has been called mostly in the second half of games. All he's done is produced when he's gotten in the game.
Smith has played against some scrubs too and he hasn't been nearly as impressive. _________________

Personally, I would start Powell tonight, in hopes that he sees some reps vs. higher quality defenders. IMHO he would have to dominate in that situation to have a shot at making the team. Smith's ST play tips the scales in his favor at this point, but if Powell performs well, he'd make the decision very difficult. The numbers game really makes it tough on Powell and the team, should they be hoping to keep him on the PS, and that's a really good problem to have. _________________

1. We release players with good camps/preseasons every year and nobody who's a part of the actual team cares.
2. Smith has played against 1's for the majority of the preseason. _________________

His impact on the game really dropped off after the first two games when Williams and Wells got back. I would love to see Powell against 1's even if it is for a single series. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

That's probably because he's only had 7 touches. _________________

Well that I what I meant, Probably worded it incorrectly. Either the team is comfortable with Fonz as the #4 guys, or they have removed him from the converstaion. Is he hurt? I just don't see why a guy who is in a battle for the #4 RB job would have 7 carries combined in your 3rd and 4th preseason games.
I can understand limiting the carries of Wells and Williams, but Smith.
Also with the new "Can bring one man back of IR" rule Levi Brown will probably make the initial 53, and then will be placed back onto IR at the first chance.
| Quote: | | If a team wants one of those players to be eligible for in-season activation, he can be added back to the 53-man roster by Friday. That player could then be returned to injured reserve after next Tuesday to receive the designation that allows him to be activated later. (Don't bother trying to diagram that sentence.) |

That likely means that Potter will not make the inital 53, but could be bought back.
Also - Wonder what is up with Senio Kelemete he was a LT at Washington last season. We drafted him to play Guard, I thought with our current situation we might have seen a lot more of him. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Good question, don't know the answer. Maybe he is out, who knows? That could be it. _________________

I don't even remember hearing his name mentioned on broadcasts I have seen. For a guy who started his last 26 games at LT in a pro-style offense in the Pac-10 I thought he might have been given a shot. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

My comment was actually about Smith and not Kelemete but I suppose it applies to both guys. _________________

Oh...But on Kelemete he is one guys I had big hope for coming in after the draft and he just seems to have drifted. The Depth Chart on azcardinals.com lists him as the backup LG.
We know six of the guys who will make the team on the OL. The starting 5 and Bridges. Hochstein likely makes the roster as C/G cover.
The last spot is up for grabs. I liked Kelemete out of college, but have not heard a thing about him. On the upside I suppose he has played a large number of snaps with Powell as the RB which will give him a bit of extra face time with the coches. One thing that always happens when you watch/scout RB's the OL stands out. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I think other teams will pick up Kelemete and Potter if they are cut. _________________
