He can recruit Texas & Oklahoma, which is HUGE for Arkansas's future success because of our tiny in-state talent pool. As long as he brings in a good DC, this will be make Arkansas a legitimate SEC contender. Plus, he's a grown man! |
Totes didn't see this coming. Wow. Hell of a hire. _________________

Now there are conflicting reports about Gundy to Arkansas. People with "sources" in the Arkansas athletic department are reporting that Gundy has agreed to a contract and will be announced shortly. Others with "sources" in the athletic department are saying he has not yet agreed to a deal. Others with "sources" in the athletic department are saying there are ongoing negotiations with someone, but not Gundy.
I want Gundy and think it'll be him. But at this point, who freaking knows. Now back to regularly scheduled deer hunt. _________________

Tennessee. Arkansas. Auburn. What a strange hire process.
I am hearing Kirby Smart to Auburn. And Mack may finally leave Texas. _________________

Now, Pat Forde is reporting that Arkansas will announce the hiring of Bret Bielema of Wisconsin as the new Razorbacks Head Coach. Another good coach that I'd love to have because he would bring in an amazing offensive line philosophy.
Gundy or Bielema, either way, I'm happy. _________________

He would have been fourth on my list. Although with the history the Hoggs have of recruiting RB's it should be impressive to see what he will end up bringing to th etable. _________________

Breaking News: I have confirmed through multiple sources that Gus Malzahn will be named the next head football coach at Auburn University
Smart/Peterson still on the market. _________________

Smart or Patterson to replace Brown. Anybody else, I won't be happy. _________________

You'll see him recruit some massively talent offensive linemen. Wisconsin's bread and butter has been its utter domination on the offensive line. So when you couple that with Arknasas' recent history of recruiting really talented RBs, it'll only make them better. I think this is a very solid hire. _________________

Peterson would be TREMENDOUS for USC. Christ.
And the best line of the whole Arkansas situation goes to Jim Rome: Maybe Bret Bielemna was bored. I can lose five games and STILL go to the Rose Bowl? I'm out of here. PAY ME.
I agree with Plan9 - with the talent Arkansas tends to acquire at the RB spot, and the consistency that Wisconsin has had to have elite OL, it is going to be a very nice situation for Arkansas. People forget that had Bobby not spit in the face of fate, they would have been contenders. The talent is there. _________________

Still on my deerstand, so I haven't listened to any sports radio today, but my buddies are blowing up my phone with texts. Hog fans are split on the hire. Some don't think he was good enough or a big enough name. Then there are those that realize that Arkansas has never won a BCS game and only been to one. Bielema will get Arkansas to that next level. This is a very good hire and our running game is going to be dominant.
PS - I'm verry happy for Malzahn. _________________
