Hmm. I definitely took some positives out of this game. Poe's 2 gapping technique looks to be much improved and he was pretty consistent from what I saw.
Pitoitua made a huge improvement in his leverage, too. I'm pretty sure he just pushed Bair and/or Long off the roster with his play tonight.
We're definitely keeping 4 RBs and possibly 5 if Eachus is kept as a FB, leaving room for one more. Is that too much? Not sure. All of our RBs have impressed in every game so far.
Edgar Jones might have pushed Sheffield off the roster with his play tonight, too. Liked what I saw from him tonight
Mims needs to be butchered. Not cut. Butchered. Holy mother floppin' fish foggers does he suck. Way too much suck. His play could probably get a golf ball through a garden hose.
Same goes for every one of our backup O-lineman not named Stephenson, Allen & Harris. I'm hoping/expecting to see us watch the waiver wire carefully for centers and guards with the last round of cuts.
I loves me some Wylie.
I likes me some Tanney.
Stanzi hates him some O-line.
Tyson Jackson is gonna be a freakin' beast this year if he keeps up the level of play he's had this preseason. He's clearly our best defensive lineman so far this year and that's obviously great to see.
We also need to watch the waiver wire for depth in our secondary because that unit has more holes in it than the Vatican.
...Anyone who gets that last one deserves this:

Twitter is reporting that DJ could be injured. I don't know how to link on my phone sorry.
If true I will have to let go of some man tears. He's our MVP. |

How have your guys' 1st team offense/defense looked this offseason? Be brutally honest with me, strengths and weaknesses. _________________

Been trying to read about DJ all morning, but most is all speculation.
Here is my vent on the 4th pre-season game....
Why do we play guys like DJ in the 4th, final, and meaningless pre-season game???? We know for a proven fact that the guy is going to be a day 1 starter and one of the leaders of our defense. What could one possibly need to see out of him in a game like this??
Personally, unless a player is in a position battle for a starting spot, I wouldn't play any starters in the 4th game.
Some may say, "Hey...this team was horrid in the pre-season and needs to get the ship going in the right direction before Week 1." Correct, but at what cost?
Season hasn't even started and I am getting a sour taste in my mouth already. They better be ready next week if I am driving 7 hours to go to the game! haha _________________

RAC in the press conference said DJ twisted his ankle. He said there wasn't anything major. _________________

Yeah, he also said Tyson has an ankle too and didn't seem worried in the slightest. We should be fine. _________________

They also said Flowers should be back in a few days a month ago, and didn't they say Lewis' injury wasn't anything amjor?
I'm not arguing, but their version of major and ours could differ greatly. Even if DJ misses one week, we've already lost 2-3 defensive starters. We might as well forget the Falcons game if DJ misses that. _________________

This is my thought.
On the other hand I also believe that our coaching staff puts very little stock in the preseason. I mean 30 some passes then 10+ runs and one pass the next week. I obviously don't know but wouldn't be surprised if flowers and Lewis would have played weeks ago if the games mattered.
I guess my point is that it is going to be a good year for chiefs fans IMO. The preseason has been a warm up and we're about to shed the warm up gear. If this team doesn't succeed it's on Romeo, we're stacked. |

That's probably because Tyson has two. _________________
Healthy Gates >>>> Anyone to play the TE/WR position, ever.
|
