Although the Cardinals QB job is now John Skelton's "to lose," ESPN's Adam Schefter expects the team to be on the lookout for a veteran signal caller.
"It doesn't stop Arizona from continuing to look around the league to see if any other quarterbacks are available before the final roster cuts either through trade or on waivers," Schefter said. "But for the time being it looks like Skelton has that job in his sights." Available veterans will include Tarvaris Jackson and either David Garrard or Matt Moore, although Skelton would still be the favorite to start the season opener. Related: Kevin Kolb

This was reported before the game. Got to think Kolb has closed the gap on the job.
1) Only see this happening if Kolb is Cut and they want a vet back up to Skelton and has no chance at the starting Job. VET backup only.
2) No QB we get right now will be better then Either of them. Coming in cold to run one of the hardest offense in the NFL. Don't see it happening. _________________

Well I believe it makes no sense financially to cut Kolb, even if he was playing horiffic. I have to think he stays on this team this year no matter what. Skelton is obviously safe. I have a hard time dealing with this report, even though Schefter is reporting it. I could see a veteran coming in as a #3, but we could not send Lindley to PS without losing him.
I cannot see how we add another QB to the mix without severing Kolb which does not seem likely. _________________

this does concern me about Lindley's roster spot...if we bring in another QB you would have to think he would be the one that is released. Skelton is safe, and Kolb is probably not going anywhere either.
and we won't be carrying 4 qb's either. _________________

Bringing in a veteran QB now makes no sense whatsoever.
1 - They are stepping into an entirely new offense with little to no time to learn it and build chemistry.
2 - Anybody we could pick up now provides us no value into the future and infact is going to hurt Skelton's development, taking both practice and in-game reps away from him.
We are not in a good place right now, but the best thing for the team is to ride it, realize that this is the position that our front office and coaching staff have put us in, lets not dig any deeper into the hole we are already in. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

It truly makes no sense. I have no idea why Schefter of all people would say that. _________________

What I'm thinking is all this means is that the Cards FO is looking at all options, but certainly doesn't mean they will act on whatever they see.
If I were in the FO, I'd like to see how much Lindley develops over the next year. If he could improve his accuracy while learning the offense, he could be an interesting player. _________________

you guys can sit here and say it makes no sense, and that it won't happen. But just remember who reported it...this is legit even if Ken Whisenhunt and Rod Graves don't know it yet.
I've doubted the great reporter before...but he always wins. _________________

If my calculations are correct, cutting Kevin Kolb would put us over the salary cap.
If true, cutting the guy is very literally not an option. _________________

Kolb is going nowhere. same for Skelton. If we do bring in a vet it will either cost lindley his spot or we will carry 4 qbs.
I hate both outcomes. _________________

If we do add a quarterback, it won't be Tavarris Jackson. Seattle traded him to Buffalo today. _________________

Thanks for rubbing this in. We actually gave them an as of yet unknown draft pick! _________________

That is bad for Vince Young. He will get another opportunity or two if not in Buffalo, but his chances are running out. _________________
