Both to the PS? Tanney IR'd? Is he even injured? I am somewhat surprised Gordon was cut. |
He hurt his finger in the series he was in
I am actually pleased with Gordon being cut, I like Powe, Poe, and Toribio. Plus with Poe playing Nickel it kind of took out most of Gordon's role on the team. _________________

sadly it seems that way. Hopefully he's only on it until we have to cut someone to put Tamba back. _________________

He hurt his finger the last throw he made in the game. I saw the trainer working what I remember being his pinky finger. _________________

True, very true. It is nice to see Pioli finally part ways with one of his pet projects. I was starting to think Washington maybe had some dirt on Pioli or something! _________________

Can anyone say Koppen? I would shocked if we go with only one backup tackle and guard not to mention the only player with any possibility of taking some snaps at center if necessary is your starting left guard (unless Allen is getting the starting nod). _________________

I'll be shocked if we don't claim a CB and/or an OL of some kind off waivers. We're extremely thin in both areas.
I'm happy with all the cuts. The only relatively surprising cuts were Gordon and Hemingway to me, but both are justified cuts. Wait...I haven't seen Bellamy's name. Did he actually make the 53? I'll be upset if that's the case. Miller and Gordon both offer us more and we have much better depth at WR than at LB or on the D-line.
I gotta say, though, a line that looks like this:
LE: Dorsey, Bailey
NT: Toribio, Poe, Powe
RE: Jackson, Pitoitua
or...
LE: Bailey
NT: Poe
RE: Pitoitua
or...
Oh, you get the point. Versatility, baby. Love it. _________________

I always felt Everette Brown projected best as an OLB in a 3-4 in the NFL. I think he's been miscast in Carolina and let's face it, it's not like he had a ton of talent around him there. I'd definitely be down for giving him a shot over Sheffield. _________________

Some other players of note :
Courtney Greene, Safety, Jacksonville Jaguars (25)
Jerry Franklin, ILB, Denver Broncos (24)
B.J. Coleman, QB, Green Bay Packers (23)
Troy Nolan, S, Houston Texans (25)
I also really like Coleman as a developmental quarterback. I think the Packers will look to sign him to their PS. _________________
