Bad calls yes, biased calls no. |

Bad calls, but what do you expect from replacement refs? These arent NFL guys with years of experience officiating NFL games and having all the NFL rules memorized. Sure, you can be mad that the refs are making (or not making) certain calls, but this is more on the league for letting it get to this point. _________________

I agree I would rather there be no bias than bad calls because the bad calls happen anyways. This stuff happens every year replacement refs or not. Biggest issue is people are looking for it now and using it as an excuse. Both teams on the field have the same refs its not like they are calling the game for one side only. Players and coaches should worry about playing football and they should win regardless of a bad or non call in almost every case.
With that said I am glad that thus far our Coach has taken that approach.
A bad call doesnt become a good call just because a Pro ref made it. It is still a bad call.
Not to mention my biggest peeve about last night was that nobody in the media is mentioning that the replay officials are the regular replay officials. They are not replacements. |

Wasnt the whole point of this so that they could assist the refs on the field??? _________________

great quote from one of my wife's former students on facebook last night:
"I actually kinda like the new nfl refs. Now the other 31 teams can see what it's like to have been a Raider fan for the past years"
I sure hope she gave this kid an A. _________________

Apparently, the replay officials couldn't review who had possession on that play, the rules book doesn't allow them to do that. That call has to be made on the field. _________________

Also from the angle of the ref who called TD it good have gone either way. I could have seen it called either way with or with out replacement official making judgement at full speed on the field. If it was against my team I would be mad if it happened to the team we were playing I would think it was a good call keeping in mind the only judgement can be from first look and not replay. Ala Moore play last year which to me its seems like Tate had more control than Moore did even at that. |

To add further confusion the play actually was reviewable. The replay booth had the final call.

Have to say, Billy Winn looked pretty solid for the Browns last night. I know some liked him coming out of Boise St. Playing well for a 6th round kid. _________________
