They've got guys in place now. There's no need for a panic move at RB, the one position Mike Shanahan has managed to turn dross into gold for years. |
We also don't have the cap space for him.
Look guys, we used the pick on Morris for a reason. There's a reason why other teams have passed on these guys. Lets develop our talent for once, please, rather than looking for the greener grass next door. _________________

We may go dumpster diving for a RB, but we aren't gonna get a big name.
I hear we are asking around though. |

Can someone summarize the Redskin's runningback situation in terms of:
-Depth Chart when everyone is healthy
-Current depth chart because of injuries
-who plays, who gets the touches
-week 1 outlook. |

Helu has tendinitis in both his achillies tendons but has been practicing a little. Still he didnt play and might not till the season starts.
Hightower played well today but still is just coming off his acl injury
Our rookie Morris looks good.
If healthy its like that 1-4 but our health is a major ? _________________

If you expect a depth chart of Shanahan's RB's to not change every couple weeks then you will be disappointed, my friend. I doubt we will be certain of our week 1 starter until a few days before the game lol. Even when healthy the backs rotate frequently.
Hightower should be good by week 1 and would probably get the nod because of his experience, blocking and effort. But as others are stating our 6th round rookie draft pick actually has about the same chance to start week 1 if he keeps playing like he has shown this preseason. 17-104 against Indy kinda helps his cause. Morris doesn't have great speed but that is irrelevant when you run over two people and there is no one left to tackle you.
I would expect that the RB's and run calls in particular would be somewhat situational, : Helu and Hightower getting more runs to the outside (but of course not exclusively) and Royster/ Morris pounding the middle more. But who gets the call may vary week to week because of the gameplan in addition to the health of the RB's. _________________

Two things:
1. That's perhaps not the best place for him to be if he wants to get picked up.
2. You might consider updating your signature since it's been almost 300 posts since that was relevant. |
