Some of the other routes definitely are on the receivers. I'm refering more to the deeper side line passes (the 2 potential TD opportunities against the Eagles in the end zone, and the pass down the right side line early in the game yesterday). I think it's just a timing thing on his part, trying to hard not to get intercepted, which he'll grow out off very soon. It's just one of the minor problems I noticed with him through 2 weeks |

Still my beef. Not ready to crown him, but he had a much better game.
I felt he was still locking onto receivers in the first half, but in the second did a better job of scanning the field. Showed moxie standing tall in the pocket. Very encouraging performance. _________________

He's a rookie QB, he's going to stare down receivers.
He's also going to throw picks and generally look out of sorts at times. _________________

Even the one particularly bad thrown he made which should have been a TD had he led Little should have still been a reception had Little just had the wherewithall to slow down and get the ball. Somebody needs to remind him that it doesn't matter how open you get if you only catch balls that are perfectly thrown. AJ Green would have caught that one. _________________ You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser

The guys first game was the most abismal performance I have ever seen. I think its safe to say at this point that was a fluke, because hes been impressive since.
He showed more arm talent last night than any other QB we have had since the return by far. I think he can be a legit 4000 yard 30 TD player in the next 2 seasons. Hes been winging it and making a ton of great throws. He should settle down and keep improving.
Splurge on a guard and top WR in free agency and draft a freak defensive player, and we will make the playoffs next year. _________________

he has enough talent to be a 4000yard, 30 TD guy. Problem is, we dont have enough talent at WR and TE for him to reach those numbers.
I mean, I see a guy like Brady throw a 10 yard pass to Gronk and he rumbles through people for a 40 yard TD. I see Eli Manning throw a 5 yard pass to Cruz and watch him dance and shake his way for a 75 yard TD.
We just don't have guys than can do that. SOme of those QBs have a few guys that can do that.
If Weeden's AVERAGE is going to be 250 yards and 2 TDs, he would have to be a hall of famer to do that with our current offensive players. _________________ NEW 2011 draft prediction.

I agree with you.
Sign a vet WR (still have small hope for Mike Wallace ) and get a vet left guard. Spend the entire draft on defense and get a tight end somewhere in there. _________________

Candy I couldnt agree more about Wallace - but I just don't see the Steelers letting him go. Jennings or Welker would be a nice option though |

I think Jennings or Bowe would be awesome. Wallace would definitely be my #1 option but I don't see it happening. _________________

Not sure why I still go into the NFL Gen forum. There are so many posters ignorantly posting hate on Weeden (though i guess that happens here too ).
A lot of people in the GDT from Thursday were impressed with Weeden and thinks he has what it takes.
You also still have the same random haters just ragging on him for no reason... Jrry, El Ramster, Etc....
Just not sure why the randomly hate but O well. _________________
