Lions traded for CB Kevin Barnes Mon and may not be deal dealing. Teams say Detroit GM Martin Mayhew making calls looking for a RB

First off I highly doubt it would be MJD, so who do you think he could be looking at? What teams have a bit of depth at RB?

That's what Rotoworld is speculating as well. Would seem to make a lot of sense and probably wouldn't cost a whole lot to get him.

Honestly, I might. We are going to have to cut a DE that i dont want to leave, so trading one instead of outright cutting would be easier to swallow.

that's the same with the Saints and the RBs, we like Ivory but UDFA out of Appalachian St, Travaris Cadet has come out looking really good

Redskins, Saints are deep at RB so look at their roster. Maybe Roy Helu? Ivory? Maybe Moreno from Denver? I don't know, just throwing some names out.

Same here. That's an intriguing trade.

I may be in the minority here, but I am kind of holding out hope for MJD.

I really think it may boil down to MJD's salary demands. This is all assumption on my part, but I feel a reasonably logical assumption;

MJD for the mileage he has at the position he plays I don't feel would get more than a 2rd+ on the open market. I think I would and I think Mayhew might be willing to part with that for a player of his caliber. But before trading for a player in the middle of a contract dispute, one would think you would ask permission to talk to the player about contract demands to see if the trade is something worthwhile long term. I truly believe if MJD's contract demands are "reasonable", he will be a Lion and we will hear of the new contract in conjunction with the trade news. If not, we won't.

I'd trade a 2nd + for MJD. It'll make for an exciting season, and if Avril balls out and becomes unaffordable, we'd still be able to tag and trade him.

It seems that Ivory would be the cheapest option. He averaged 5.0 yards a game in his career. Evans/Nicks had to have helped that though, but he still average more per carry than Ingram. I wonder if Pierre Thomas could be available. I like Ivory's power though.

Another back that would be cool is Ben Tate, but he would be expensive. Also Daniel Thomas of the Dolphins maybe since they could just use Slaton and Miller to back up Bush.

Or maybe Bush. Would make sense to grab a scat back.
