If i am Whiz and i manage to survive till april, i would go all out in the 2013 draft.
I would trade future picks (not his problem if he is fired) and try to get as much talent on this team that buys him another year at $4 or $5 mil whatever he is on.
There is an ubundance of talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds this year, why not move a 2014 pick to get another G or T or whatever.
Wont happen, but should happen. |

How they address the QB situation is going to be huge for this team. The last thing I want to see is this team signing some team's castoff QB and try to sell us on him being a winner for us. It is going to be hard to support this team if they are going to try to tell me that Ryan Fitzpatrick, Mike Vick or Alex Smith is the answer at QB. _________________

I could live with Fitz or Smith, Vick i want no part of.
Fitz would be interesting, we have a much better D than Buffalo and he has no running game here, he could lead us to 18 points a game.
Smith is merely moving to the same Off on a diff team, he won 13 games a year ago doing this, i could live with the stopgap, we would even see the playoffs. |

Heads up...Fitzpatrick = Kolb for the most part. Fitz is a more durable and gutsy player when running, but otherwise it would be a wash. _________________

The only way we could ignore the OL in the early round is if we sign Jake Long and move Levi to Guard. Only one of the two is realistic probably. Starting tackles are Long & Massie with Potter as a solid backup. I could live with and could use multiple picks for Geno or wait for Wilson/Barkley. Go defense in rounds 2-3 and really complete the team. _________________

Dez, your bromance for a certain Dolphin is impressive.
I dont think we spend the cash on him, as much as it would be nice addition, we dont have the room, unless a few useless expensive vets get their pink slips this offseason. |

We can easily make room without hurting the team. C'mon Mr Accountant... _________________

Bobbie Massey holding strong. I'm going to be short of my projection, but we were on pace close to half way through the year.
Side note, Seattle's Russell Okung hasn't given up a sack thus far this year.
Wow. _________________

Easy to avoid sacks allowed when you hold. _________________

If you ignore the 0-8 slid we are on, what have we achieved?
We have our new RT for the next few years and a new LT.
Really that 2012 draft has sourced 2 players to fill 2 positions, that have long been a bane/thorn in our side for this team.
I am positive for them going forward.
Unless we can sign Long or Albert
Now to solve the Guard problem, TE problem etc |

Last I checked he had 6 or 7 and led the league. Even if only a few of those end up as sacks, it still changes his league sacks allowed ranking by quite a bit.
In a lot of cases, the hold is worse. Not all sacks are 10 yard losses. _________________

Ya, but you don't lose a down. That in and of itself is valuable. _________________

Sacks are much worse than holds. For one the QB doesn't get hit and there's no fumble threat. As Younggun alluded to you get to replay the down. Now, if you're holding and it wouldn't have resulted in a sack is where it gets tricky. Bottom line is I'd give a whole heckuva lot for Russell Okung. _________________
