Outsiders opinion:
I am impressed by your front 7. Fast, athletic and physical. I am talking Steelers / Ravens physical. Your d-line beat our o-line up all night. That's including two pro bowlers in Alex Mack and Joe Thomas. We couldn't do squat running (granted Hardesty is guaranteed to lose his job to Trent) but still impressive.
I like what I saw from Foles. However he got a little cocky with his INT to Haden. He should have just attacked Sheldon Browns old rotten corpse every single play.
I like what Shady brings to the table just a rare thoroughbred.
The play Gordon made on Scrabbles was not Nmandis fault. It was an elite throw to a WR making a great play. Same thing happened to Haden last week versus Rodgers. Great offense beats great defense. _________________

Read through the thread, sounds like the Eagles played well. _________________

Asomugha, Rodgers-Cromartie, Hanson, Boykin and ...
... Marsh or Lindley?
Marsh, hell, if Boykin can take the nickel job from Hanson I wouldn't mind Lindley over Hanson because all Hanson gives you is an inside guy, but between Marsh and Lindley, Marsh has been very good against better competition.
McCoy, Lewis, Brown and ...
... Polk or Havili?
Polk, he's been the best inside runner on the roster. He always keeps his legs moving, is strong, can catch the ball out of the backfield, and is a threat in short yardage and goalline situations. We used a FB more as a receiver than a blocker last year, and we could use a timeshare there between Celek and Harbor (as we did last year) and Polk (in pass protection or on FB handoffs mostly)
Vick, Foles and ...
... Kafka or Edwards?
Edwards, he has experience starting in the league, has the better arm, and I've never really been much of a Kafka guy. Either way its splitting hairs but I'm just not big on either, but I like what Edwards has done this preseason leading us to multiple scoring drives. With a rookie cleary the #2, it wouldn't hurt to have a guy with starting experience as the #3.
Celek, Harbor and
... Brackett or Nobody?
Nobody, Brackett has made it tough, but its a numbers crunch because we have too many talented guys at other positions and haven't carried 3 tight ends since the days of Mike Bartrum.
Jenkins, Cox, Landri and ...
... Thornton or Dixon?
Thorton has been the better player and better schematical fit. That said if Patterson opens the season on IR or PUP, Dixon will probably make the roster.
Cole, Babin, Curry, Hunt and ...
... Graham or Tapp?
Graham, he's been better and we have more invested in him. Tapp will be traded or cut.
Jackson, Maclin, Avant, Johnson and ...
... McNutt or Burress or McNutt until Cooper returns or wait until after other teams make cuts?
Wait for cuts, if you can add a receiver with some redzone size and ability on special teams, it could make Cooper expendable all together.
Allen, Coleman and ... (pick 2)
... Jarrett or Thomas or Atogwe or Nelson or some yet unnamed player ?
Atogwe and Thomas, the league won't allow us to carry Nelson due to it being against the law to be that awesome, but Atogwe has been solid all preseason and Thomas looked good last night sans the touchdown. Either way one gets cut when Colt Anderson gets back to 100%.
Chaney, Kendricks, Ryan, Rolle and ... (pick 1 or 2)
... Jordan or Matthews or Clayton
Jordan is a lock to make this roster, his special teams ability as well as versatility make him a lock. I'm not sure who makes it between Matthews or Clayton, but I'm taking Matthews due to the fact Clayton has been here longer and yet to make an impact, and while he was awful as a starter, Matthews was a pretty good special teamer.
Chas Henry or Matt McBriar? |
McBriar, Henry had one big punt, but has been pretty bad outside of that, McBriar has had higher averages across the board, and while Henry has more punts inside the 20, being with the starters who haven't moved the ball much has made McBriar have to long punt more than attempt to pin the opposing offenses inside the 20. Holding would give Henry the edge if the punting competition was close, but Henry has been abysmal as a punter. We need Koy Detmer back just to hold...
Those are my answers... _________________

Chas Henry or Matt McBriar? |
Marsh
Havili
Kafka
Nobody
Thornton, maybe Dixon makes it, but I doubt it.
Graham, maybe Tapp makes it.
Depends on what Burress want. McNutt have been disappointing during the preseason.
Atogwe being a veteran should probably play great, Thomas might make it or PS.
Jordan and Matthews, maybe Clayton makes it over Matthews because he got potential to be a good pass coverage, but he can't play the run to save his life.

Ok so the re-air should be on NFLN in an hour, so I'm going to check it out.
Saw some of the highlights last night, but wouldn't mind seeing the rest. _________________

Thats one of 2 things I've noticed, the other being that the Browns announcers are turrible. The PBP guy just called Mat McBriar Chas Henry, and called Graham a linebacker, and is fired up about everything... _________________

^I was just thinking that. They suck. One of them also mixed up DeSean and JMac twice.
Nice punt block by Clayton. Didn't expect that. _________________

Bummer that Damaris didn't get that second foot down. Nice try though.
And I think we can all be happy that he'll be stopping Chad Hall from continuing to steal a roster spot. _________________

Now you know how I feel from last night. I had to go the route in which we are not allowed to talk about in order to watch it. I pressed mute in 2nd only to turn it back on and listen to them be in Ahh of our players. _________________

Not liking how every deep throw Foles makes the guy has to slow down or turn around and fall to the ground. _________________ Meow |

He's making some nice throws, I don't think it's an issue of arm strength, I think he's really just not used to NFL speed yet. Let's look for that to improve. _________________
