I'm very disappointed right now. Kyle Moore probably makes roster now. Also leaves another spot on the roster possibly for another D-Lineman. Like troup/carrington. _________________

I'm not going to lie. I don't feel as confident anymore of the D-Line with Merriman out if there is an injury to Anderson or Mario.
P.S. WHO WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ME A MARCELL DAREUS SIG? lol _________________

Merriman has been a disappointment. He hasnt shown that hes worth the $5 million. I am shocked because I know he is Nix's boy but he hasnt done anything and he is injury prone. He is nothing like he was. As for your response about mario or mark getting injured you have Kelsey who has been decent so far in preseason as a backup. this now save the bills $4 million and will now be put to better use. I am still expecting some more releases and i know people dont like hearing it but I am seeing moorman and Spencer Johnson. The bills spent to the cap and now cutting the dead weight. Moorman is getting up in age and they signed an undrafted rookie who has had an exceptional college career and can potnetially be a top punter in the NFL like moorman was in the early 2000s. Levitre and Byrd should be getting an extension some time soon _________________

That still doesn't alleviate my worries or make me feel any better before he was released. Thanks for the effort. _________________

I honestly don't think we will see any difference in the on-field play. The guy was terrific for a while in SD and just never got back to anything remotely close to that level of play. _________________

Surprising. Even though Merriman is better suited for the 3-4 he is still better than Kyle Moore.
I could see Bills switching Carrinton to DE and keep Troup/Heard at DT. _________________

Merriman was still a good signing. It was a relatively low risk / high reward situation that didn't end up work out. No big deal. _________________

Say what you want about Merriman and not performing, but he did A LOT to help build this Defense. Merriman is good friends with Nich Barnett and Kirk Morrison, 2 key pieces of our new 4-3 D. He also was one of the reasons we got Mario Williams, and even Mark Anderson.
So in a nut shell, if we dont pick up Merriman off waivers, that means we dont have LBs Nick Barnett, Kirk Morrison and possibly even Mario Williams or Mark Anderson.
Worth the $5 Mil IMO. _________________

I don't see this as a loss at all to our defence.
I agree that he's helped us build the defence and gave us a good name with other players while he was here, but he just doesn't fit on this team and the money is better spent elsewhere. |
