What would we do if Sherrod is out for like 4-6 games?
And Newhouse or Buluga are out ??
What ever happened to Marcus Mcneil ???
Any vet has to be better than the two I saw last night and Family night |

Doubt it. Sure as hell in better shape at tackle than most clubs. I'm in anything but panic mode right now. LIS, if they are ok with Newhouse being the starter all season good chance they are ok with Taylor starting a game or two right now. Taylor is very much so a poor mans version of Newhouse. |

What if Rodgers gets injured?
What if Matthews gets injured?
What if McCarthy gets sick and can't coach?
What if Woodson gets injured?
What if Finley falls asleep and misses the team flight?
What if Jennings gets the same injury as Greg Childs?
OP's question is dumb. Any team would be in trouble if their top three tackles magically got injured. _________________

yes, perfect! base everything off of what you saw during family night
logical thought process sir!
we should also sign Doug Peterson back to help groom Graham & BJ in case Rodgers gets another concussion since our left tackle position is really concerning
for the last 24 hours all i hear is hosts on local sports radio freak out about how thin we are at tackle & apparently if we start an inexperienced tackle we will put our MVP QB in a really bad spot
& also, we really need a run game otherwise this offense is going to take a huge step back in production... & we also need a pass rusher opposite of Clay otherwise this defense wont be any better than last year...
who knew? |

If we were to bring in a vet, which is a huge if because we should have all 3 of our top tackles for the regular season, but if we were to bring in a vet, the first call would absolutely go to Cliffy to see what his health is like. _________________

would like to point out that while being a little bit overzealous and sensational in making his point, OP's real point was that herb taylor sucks and they should kick the tires on someone aside from him and datko.
Let's read and understand before we say OP's question is dumb. |

I agree, this is worrisome as hell. But by the end of preseason well be good. |

I agree with skibrett15. This is a position that IMO is pretty weak.
I think we should all be concerned if we go into week 1 with the current crop of tackles. It is a weaker position on our roster. No need to deny it. I am not sure that Don's solution is correct, but the problem is still there. _________________ GO PACK GO!

Newhouse maybe could play against San Diego. That means worst case he is still ready by pre-season week 2. The only thing that depresses me is maybe Aaron sits after one series, which is all runs and a slant pass, so he has no chance to of getting hurt. And that is pretty selfish of me, but I need my belt fix!!! |

We should all know this story by now ... by and large the Packers are a draft and develop team with a next man up attitude. It's highly doubtful they go looking to add any older vets to the squad at this point. |

Agreed.
Let's just hope our OT's actually have better-than-average luck with health this season. _________________ "It's the same old Jay," Woodson told ESPN afterward. "We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball." |

I love these "Sign a vet OT" or "Sign a vet QB" or "Sign a vet RB" or "Sign a vet OLB"
Who?
Random couldn't make X team's roster but would be worth the roster spot/money/trade bait?
Who do you think that is legitimately out there or could be available in time to actually learn this offense well enough to be an asset?
Not to mention Sherrod should be back before the season starts as well as Newhouse and I think the Packers OL can go 6-7 deep as well as almost anyone in the league. _________________

I can't imagine there are any veteran tackles out there right now worth looking at that are not presently employed. If we feel the need to get more depth behind Newhouse we can always wait until the last cut-downs and see if any club releases a tackle that can help us in late August. |
