I don't see a way Vereen gets cut unless he completely craps the bed for the remainder of camp/preseason. Woodhead, out of all the non-rookies, is the guy that's on the bubble. _________________

Woodhead is not a good player imo. I think Demps will take his job and be an upgrade. Though i could see all 3 make the roster this yr. _________________

One thing to keep in mind is the contract length. Woodhead will be a free agent next offseason. Ridley, Vereen, Bolden, and Demps will all be under the Patriots' control for at least three seasons each. If they cut Bolden for Woodhead, then they probably don't have either of them in a year.
Also, if the Pats cut Bolden, then Shane Vereen becomes the second biggest halfback on the roster at 205 pounds. I think they need a second 220 pounder just in case something happens to Ridley. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

just watched some clips of him. he looks like he has another two gears above everyone else at the college level and can turn the corner at will.
it will be interested how that translates to the NFL where there are some DBs are just as fast as he is. _________________

I wouldnt say by far. CJ2k is still up there and some other lesser named guys. but no DBs are as fast as him. _________________

Which is why Bolden can hang out on the practice squad, I guess? I'm not convinced that he's a guy worth carrying on the 53 barring excellent special teams value.
Though, I do agree that carrying Demps/Vereen/Woodhead seems like a bit of a waste if Demps is in NFL game shape. I don't particularly care for Woodhead - he sucks as a returner and anything he can do on offense, Vereen can do better. |

game speed is closer, but demps nearly qualified to compete in the olympic 100m.
nobody else is on his level. Johnson maybe initially, but top speed? He is the fastest player to come into the league since young randy. _________________

I agree w the old man. Unless he is impressive vs the Eagles, the PS is his future for at least a year or two. |

| It would seem that Bolden's chances are linked in part to Ridley's injury at the moment. He could stick if they needed a bigger back to take handle those duties the first few weeks of the season if Ridley can't go. Doesn't seem like he's in danger of missing regular season time right now, though. |

I don't remember too much about him. What was his projected draft value? Looks a lot like CJ Spiller, who I like. _________________
