Florence cut! Not surprised. Looked horrible when I saw him in game 3
Does that mean Carter make the team? |

I said 2 weeks ago on twitter i wouldn't be surprised at all if Florence is cut... Repeated that last night after another awful showing. He is 31, was disgustingly bad, and was making more than $2 million. Tony Carter played very well in pre-season and deserved to make the final roster over Florence. _________________

Would like Thompson to come to Oakland and return some punts. _________________

He's not that good at it.
SO glad no one I thought high of was cut. My least favorite loss though is Jeremiah Johnson. Someone should pick him up (not the Raiders). _________________

I hope we invite war Riley back as he was just cut from jets or mike Sims walker wr,
Surprised at some of our cuts like duke (thought he was making a great impression) as well as rb j.Johnson would have preferred him to ball or Moreno. Also wouldn't mind dropping hanie snagging senca Wallace. Just my thoughts also hope we practice squad Ben garland and gerrel Robinson. |

Wish Gerell Robinson nothing but the best... He was my favorite of all the UDFA, but he just didn't show enough. I still think he has a future in the NFL though, and i'm sure he will get his shot down the road. _________________

I wish Cornelius Ingram, Gerell Robinson and Jeremiah Johnson stayed...
Ingram seemed had a great first game and I never saw Julius Thomas... which is still on the team.
Robinson is simply a logic cut when looking at the depth chart.
They had to keep 4 RBs and Jeremiah is the one who suffered the most from playing with the backup o-line. _________________

JJ still out played Knowsho in preseason IMO _________________ I long for the days when giving your word, with a firm handshake, was the "signature on the contract." |

I agree. Elway and Fox haven't made many personnel mistakes in their time here but cutting Jeremiah Johnson and keeping Moreno is one. They'll regret it come week 2 or 3 when Knowshon fumbles and costs us a game.
For what it's worth, here's the original projection for the final roster I made 2 1/2 weeks ago. Bolded players did not make the final roster.

No complaints with Florence getting cut. Apparently Chris Harris has done nothing but impress in TC (didn't even suit up for game 4) and I mentioned in my prediction that I thought Tony Carter would stick.
Not impressed that Keith Brooking is still around. He hasn't put the pads on once, he is old and has been injured all TC. He is going to be a total liability if he ever sees the field.
I don't think JJ is going to make it through waivers, but apparently he still has PS eligibility which was probably the deciding factor between him and Knowshon.
It's weird, because even though our 2nd and 3rd teamers got battered throughout the preseason, I actually think our PS is going to have some players on it that can contribute in the NFL. The likes of Blatnick, Robinson, Mohamed, Siliga, Orton can make it in the NFL - I am sure of it.
Pretty stoked to see CJ Davis make it. If you read my in depth analysis of Weeks 1, 2 & 3 you will see that I thought he played really well. He has seen time at LG, Center and RG for us this preseason; that versatility got him a roster spot, no doubt about it.
Don't expect this roster to be final though. Andre Caldwell hasn't been worth his salary this preseason, and I fully expect our QB roster to change in the next 48 hours. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD

Lomax,
I agree with you about Florence. He has lost a step and Harris and Carter both showed a ton in the games.
Brooking needs to go as well. He brings smarts to the field, but little else.
J.J. did nothing to make this squad. Watch his feet, he is always trying to make two or three moves, instead of just getting up the field. I hope he does sign with the PS, but I will not be sad if another team signs him.
I hope Orton, Blatnick, Robinson, Siliga and Garland are on our PS. Robinson and Orton will push Willis off the team if they continue to grow as players. Garland, out of football for two years, showed lots of push, just lack of recognition. I like him alot. |

I'm not surprised Florence got cut, he was awful. Tony Carter isn't a terrible player so he's good depth. Keith Brooking won't be around long I reckon. He's here for veteran presence and they're hoping they don't need him.
As much as I dogged Moreno, he earned his spot on the team. Ran authoritatively and looked more consistent. I think if JJ didn't have PS eligibility he would have made the team. I can't really complain though. All around, I'm satisfied. Especially glad we didn't keep the incredibly overrated Ryan Harris. _________________
