| Just read on rotoworld that Currys knees are still bothering him and his season might be up in the air. I think this would be a devastating loss. He was one of our few defensive guys I thought played at a decent level. I hope he comes back quick since he's been placed on the pup also. Thoughts? |

Very possible, but i hope not. At least we have some capable backups I believe. _________________ If the Raiders don't trade back at 3, I want Fisher, Ziggy, or Star. |

All news regarding Curry right now is purely speculative. With that said, it doesn't look good at the moment. The best we can do is hope for a speedy recovery.
The positive side to this is that we get to see what Miles Burris is capable of sooner rather than later.
LB was & still is a concern for this team. _________________

Burris doesn't sound ready and needs to be more consistent. He was a 4th round pick after all.
Goethal hopefully steps up. Have to think Reggie has a short list of LBs on his desk to look at off the waiver wire. _________________

I read that him being able to go at the BEGINNING of the season was at risk. Not his whole season. But I may just not be seeing an updated report. _________________

Yea Burris has a long way to go it sounds. Goethel is pretty versatile but if McClain goes down we're screwed. Waiver wire and/or Stupar is added to the roster. He's had a much better camp than Burris. _________________

I think all of...
Ernie Sims
E.J. Henderson
Keith Brooking
Ricky Brown
Darryl Blackstock
Rocky Macintosh
Are all still available. And some decent guys likely won't make it to other teams final 53s. Either way LB isn't exactly our "strongest position". |

Sims isn't very good any more. Brooking isn't very good any more either and signed with Denver. Ricky Brown was signed by Baltimore. Do not want Blackstock back. EJ is coming back from hella injury and is old but worth a look. I'd give Mac one too but I'm not sure how much to expect because of age.
EDIT:
I think I might've seen both Rocky McIntosh and Ernie Sims on the Rams _________________

I havent seen any info with any concrete news in regards to Curry's health. LB is really thin, we need him, and if he cant play for any length of time we need to add another LB or two after cuts. Heck we might need to do that regardless. _________________

Cork said he's in LA getting treatment from a specialist and that there's no timetable for his return yet. I think I read he already had that stem cell surgery this offseason. We're counting on AC to play a big role in the defense. All the beat guys have good things to say about Burris but he's still suspect until he proves he can play. And that leaves pretty terrible depth if Burris is starting. _________________

That doesn't make me feel too optimistic about his chances of suiting up anytime soon. Weird that McKenzie hasn't signed anyone else yet. Not like Aaron Curry has proven to be anything more then average at this point, but I liked his potential in this new defense. _________________

I guess we can take solace in the fact that Curry would have been a 2 down LB for us anyway. With how much offenses around the league are spreading defenses out, we'll be playing with either DVD or Mitchell as the 5th DB most of the time.
Where this effects us the most is the ability to run hybrid looks. _________________
