Didn't want to post this in the News Forum because it didn't seem like something necessary of being blown out of proportion (as folks would likely do there), but I didn't see mention of it here and figured you guys would want to be in the know.

Calf injury can mean a lot of things, probably not at all severe in and of itself unless it's a full blown rupture or sizable tear. That said, anything that puts more strain on that thrice-repaired ligament could be really precarious as one would have to anticipate another injury to that ACL would be career-threatening for Thomas. _________________

That really sucks.. I really wanted TD to be able to contribute this year but it's not looking so good _________________

"Career-threatening" was a nice way of putting it. Honestly most guys' careers would be over after just the second one.
But this doesn't seem that serious. They're probably being extra, extra cautious with him. I mean, not just to keep him healthy so he can contribute for us, but also for his sake--he probably wants to be able to play with his kids when he retires. |

| Not surprised and not really worried. He isn't starting right now so he has time to bring his body to the point it needs to be. These players are in good shape but they aren't in game shape. Minor injuries are a part of camp. |

Okay TD, I guess they all made up the fact that you have a strained knee and calf. Come on now. _________________

| I'm rooting for the guy but can we really expect him to make a big impact this season? I haven't heard of anyone coming back from three acl injuries. |

If the guy can make the field, I'll consider it a success.
However, I would not be surprised if he didn't make the final roster if he cannot get healthy over the next week. _________________

Agreed.
Jeff Otah should look at his own situation over the last few seasons and the start of this one, compare it to what Davis has been through and how hard he has worked to get back - and then leave the sport for good due to a career ending bout of shame.
Davis when healthy could have been one of the best. _________________ Still the only UK-based Panthers fan I know...hang on a minute...I might be the only one IN the UK! |
