5 slots open from what you have above.. add:
Copper WR/ST - he doesnt get enough credit for his role
Powe NT Flashed on a few plays and don't trust him as safe on the PS
Hartman S/ST hard hard worker with more ability than most think
leaves 2 spots for me still too hard to decide on. I don't think they bring a FB to the 53 but.. I'll be deciding between:
FB
WR/ST
LB/ST
OL

I think we keep all 4 RB's, but most think we only keep 3. Thats why I said 5-6 spots open.
Powe/Gordon/Bair/Rob are going to be tough cuts, as I only think we keep 2 of them.
Copper probably makes the team in the extra spot, if they don't see Draughn being able to fill his special teams roles.
Hartman/Parks are in a battle for the last DB spot IMO. _________________

See I'm sure they would "like" to carry all 4 RBs but I think it will come down to wantiing to keep a guy at another position for needed depth and they will view that 4th RB as a "luxary".
Yeah I think Copper will make it on ST play alone. And I think guys like Powe and Mims are showing enough early on as well to secure spots.
I know one thing we have a lot of young talent. Gonna hate to see us lose some of these guys.
I'm still hopeful for Heyman and Parks, gonna have to wait and see how they show rest of preseason. |

Hartman had a really good game last night. He was the only one of the DB's after the starters (considering Arenas and Elam in that group of nickel starters) to really have a "plus" game IMO. He's got a very good shot at making the roster, because unless I missed osmehting, he was the only one to play the Jack role outside of Berry. And yes you read that right, in nickel Berry was the Jack and Elam was deep, which I'm totally OK with because Berry was allowed to freelance and be a rover doing whatever he wanted.
Also, I absolutely think they keep 4 RB's, just like last year we kept guys like Bair, and later on Mims and Powe on the 53 to avoid losing them. Also, with the combination of our reliance on the runnig game and the tendancy for RB's to get banged up and miss some time, we will keep all 4 RB's. That's also made more of a sure thing given both Draughn and Gray's involvement in ST's last night. _________________

Yeah I'm anxious to see what other S makes it after Berry, Lewis and Elam.
I thought Hartman had a decent game. He had many more reps than the other guys. He had one good hit I remember. I'm still pulling for Parks and anxious to see what Thorpe does as well through the preseason stretch. |

It'll either be Daniels or Washington. Daniels is ahead on the depth chart and he's more versatile since he can play corner pretty well. So I guess what I'm saying is my money's on Daniels. _________________

| Yeah I think Daniels makes it too and they do view him as a s now. IMO Washington has had his time. I do though wanna see a guy like parks make it |

| I can see us keeping Hartman and Daniels. Meaning 5 safeties. Daniels can play CB and S. Hartman can back up Berry if he goes down. |

Had them keeping Gordon over Ropati Pitoitua strictly because he is versatile. If Tribio goes down I don't think Poe steps in at 0 tech. Gordon can get us out of a game there. Don't expect Powe to be active on game days. I wanted to keep Gabe Miller but the PS will have to do for him. Bannon made it for ST basically. Same with Copper. _________________

Take off Mims and Bannon, and either Heyman or Greenwood
Add Pitoitua, Hemingway, and a DB. |

| Yeah gonna be some tough decisions. Right now I've been kind of hopeful we can carry another DL in Pitoitua and another DB in a guy like Parks as I'm sure Daniels and Elam will make it but I would like to keep one of the young guys with great range and size like Parks. |

I'll take Pitoatua over Gordon easily at this point. _________________

I'm also in the no FB camp. Hillis, Maneri, Moeaki, and Boss can cover that. GL we can use a DL if we have too (Poe as a lead blocker? It'd scare the crap outta me) _________________

Yeah I kind of feel the same way but I feel they are higher on Gordon and like that they can play him inside or out. So I think it will be one or the other. Or they keep ropati and gordon drop someone like Powe which I don't wanna see either. Guess my ideal group is TJ, Dorsey, Bailey, Ropati, Poe, Toribio, Powe.
I'm personally not as high on Toribio atm and could keep someone over him but they seem to be sky high on him and sounds like he's improving so i think he sticks. Still leaves guys like Gordon, Bair, and Long. |
