| C'mon guys. This is an important thread right now that fans want to discuss. Let's not get it locked up. I'm not at all saying that I can't laugh at jokes too...but we all know the rules here. |

Not a single post in this thread jumped out to me as homophobia. That would deserve a warning.
Drop it. _________________

I stand corrected. I was not familiar with the term, nor Benson's history.

I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended.
Had I known what he meant, I wouldn't have laughed and brushed it off. That kind of stuff is not tolerated on FF. _________________

I'll be very interested to see how this RB situation turns out. I still gotta wonder how much this gets put at the feet of MM though. Constructively speaking, I'm not sure how much MM emphasizes the run game. This goes back to a thread I posted late last season. Analyzing the rushing attempts from last season showed me that the running plays were almost toss away plays, no rhyme or reason.
There is no reason we shouldn't be able to run the ball with the likes of Lang, Sitton and Bulaga up front. I don't pretend to know the practice habits, but does the run game get the work that it should to be successful on game day ? I know that you have to play to your strengths, and that happens to be Arod and company, but a healthy run game only adds to the passing dimension.
I gotta believe that even with a pedestrian back, with the talent we have up front, a disappointing ground attack will lead me to look first at MM. You have to present a rhythm to the run game just like you do for the passing attack.
I'm not a huge Starks guy, he seems to lack anywhere near the quicks for a guy that presents that big of target. _________________

| This signing has grown on me, was never a benson guy but looking back on last season it'll be refreshing not having to go shotgun 5 wide on 3rd and 1's and 2's. |

Benson is a bruiser so it will be nice to line up 3rd and 1 and have giving the RB the rock an option. Just another weapon for us. _________________

Hopefully his twitter account being cancelled was a part of the deal. _________________

| Benson gives us something we haven't had since Green, Davenport. Tuff physical back that can soften up a defense. teams are going to follow the Giants blueprint and play man coverage against us. We now have the option to pound you. We can now soften you up, then go up top. I love the big pass plays but i also want us to finally get physical, blow guys off the ball smash some mouths. Im sick of this soft finesse label we've gotten. |

Benson was the #4 overall pick that draft we got Rodgers in.
They were both in the green room together that day.... Aaron stuck in there a lot longer.
I like Cedric, but I wonder if he's ever run being an OL that opens up fewer holed than he will see/experience here. _________________ "It's the same old Jay," Woodson told ESPN afterward. "We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball." |

I pretty much think we are going to use him to eat at clock so the wear on Green/Starks/Saine lessens. Use him like we should have used Grant last year _________________

He's not a guy u put in for a series or two to kill clock because well, he's not any good at it. _________________

In past years I would have agreed with this, however, I think the right side of this line, if healthy (Sitton was not for much of the season and Bulaga missed time), is going to make the rushing attack respectable this year. I go back to the first play of family night, Starks takes the ball wide right and flat out misses the cutback lane, his mind was already made up. Benson probably makes that cut and gets 4-5 yards. Starks got stopped wide for little. I certainly like the tandem of Lang and Newhouse on the left side in year two together as well. Much better run line without Clifton and a more seasoned Lang and Newhouse on the other side and hopefully a healthy Sitton and Bulaga. 3rd and 1 suddenly does become a potential run down with a decent runner behind this healthy group. |

Grant was always the homerun or 2 yard back. Starks was the guy that was supposed to always fall forward and grind out 3-4 yard chunks at a time. |
