Garrard's reported knee surgery throws a huge wrench in #Dolphins QB race. Team avoids paying him $2.25m salary if he's cut before Week 1

Looking for a better link now.
EDIT:

How does this affect the QB race going forward.
Found it odd that many of the players didnt even know about the injury. _________________

With David Garrard likely sidelined for the rest of the exhibition season Matt Moore & Ryan Tannehill will be in a 2 QB battle to start.

Guess tanny jumped Moore on the Depth Chart. _________________

Surprised he made the team needing a major knee scope!
Glad we saved the money by having that clause in the contract! Never like Garrard anyway!
Congrats to Tanny...... Let the season (and new era) begin! _________________

Uhg!!!
I just don't want Tannehill thrown to the wolves before he's ready for it. I guess tonight we begin to find out about our #8 overall pick.
Is there any chance Devlin sticks? If he continues to improve he might be our long term backup to RT17. _________________ Earn more sessions by sleeving. |

Hold it... is Tannehill starting confirmed?
If so this pre-season game could be even more interesting... It's a sucky break for Garrard since he's a class guy and could've been a good mentor for Tannehill but he could still make the team.
Whether he's in first or second, looking forward to seeing "our future" in the first pre-season game! _________________ With much cheese,

If I remember correctly he was trying to hide the injury last season while trying to get a job. It looks like Garrard is done. I feel bad for him but at the same time I'm elated that Tannehill will get a chance to play. |

It looks like Moore is starting, I haven't seen anything that states Tannehill will start. But at least he won't be playing against the third and fourth stringers. Hello Pat Devlin. |

This is what I was thinking, i think that hinges on the performance of the 2 tonight though. Its only 2-4 weeks that Garrard is out so if Moore and Tanny dont stink up the joint i dont see him being brought in, but if the 2 put up garbage numbers then i could see him being brought in.
As far as Devlin is concerned all ive heard and read is good things about him minus arm strength. Ireland loves him according to reports.
I may have jumped the gun about Tanny starting tonight, looks like it is Moore running with the 1's. _________________

Please cut him, screw Vets. Lets see how Devlin does in Pre-Season or sign another younger talent or trade. |

Really hoping I can find an online stream for the game. They're not going to air it here in Houston for sure and I am NOT going to fork over money to the NFL to watch games that don't particularly matter haha _________________
