I wonder how much the defendant was just paid. No doubt set for a number of years.
Witnesses saw it all and ironically 'charges dropped'. Money really can buy freedom.

Sorry guys but bp's got this right. It's a matter of semantics whether you want to say "charges dropped" or charges not pursued or filed, but bottom line is:
1. he was arrested and charged with a crime
2. he posted bail and was released
Being personally familiar with the procedure from incidents in my misguided youth I can tell you, if you are not charged with a crime you can't be detained. You don't post bail unless you're detained.
They may have chosen not to pursue the case, but he was charged with a crime. |

Whether the charges were filed or dropped doesn't matter. Dumervil was an idiot for putting himself in this situation.

Exactly. He was charged with a crime.
This is typical of high profile athletes, celebrities, etc.

I'm not going to argue whether or not he was guilty paid off or anything like above. At this point it doesnt matter. For his and all of society's sake let's hope he doesn't do anything stupid like this again(because even w/o charges he still has noted to do something incredibly stupid.)

I could care less if he is innocent or not. I like watching a football team that doesn't suck and I am glad he isn't getting charged. We would have been in so much trouble without Elvis. Double teaming Von every play.

Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. Every situation differs, Elivs isn't any other football player nor Lindsay Lohan. Probably naive to believe him paying somebody off isn't a possibility just like thinking he's 100% guilty would be silly. People have gone to prison and later been found to be innocent. Charges get dropped daily for tons of different reasons.
All speculation and this isn't TMZ or whatever gossip site so to each his own. Awesome news for the Denver Broncos tho  |
