Not making any headlines eh?

The Rams became the first team in league history to have three consecutive 500 point seasons:

99-526
00-540
01-503

The defense allowed the following those years:

99-242
00-471
01-273

Now we look at the Patriots:

10-518
11-513
12-557

And the defense:

10-313
11-342
12-331

...and while we're at it, they also scored the third most points in a season, falling three points shy of tying second.

Everybody knows the only reason BB didn't try and score is because he wanted Randy to be able to keep saying he was the primary weapon of the two greatest offenses ever.

Some will disagree but I don't think it's as impressive in today's game. I think it was more impressive when the GSOT did it.

Don't worry. Sean Payton would pass the ball in a Tornado.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

A lot of rules changes favoring the offense over the past decade though. Big hits from safeties are essentially personal fouls now, no matter how clean the hit is.

No doubt the GSOT was more impressive, but like the Bears in the 80s, the GSOT has a jump start on most NFL defenses.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't approach to the whole issue.

Personally I think the 83 Redskins or the 98 Vikings are more impressive feats. Personally.

But then you hear bout those 50s Rams.....

Me too...with an honorable mention to the 1991 Redskins as well.
