Who would you rather have going forward, Enes Kanter or Jonas Valanciunas?

what do you think their ceilings are and do you think they will pan out or bust?

I'll go with Jonas. Even though I think that Kanter is going to be a 10/10 guy in the future, I'll go with the upside in Jonas.

Good comparison, although I'm not sure how anyone can give a definitive answer at this point. Kanter hardly played as a rookie and Jonas hasn't played at all.

If I had to guess, I'd go Kanter because of the finessnes/skill he has to go along with his size/strength. I could see him being similar to Nikola Pecovick, who I thinks a beast. I like Jonas' upside though. Reminds me of the kind of player Andris Biedrins was shaping up to be before he started sucking. Long, athletic center who runs the floor well, plays tough D, and underrated scoring in the post.

Enes Kanter is crazy underrated on this forum. He has crazy potential, he just got no playing time last year. Tough for me to say who I'd take.

I'll go with Kanter. I think he's playing in a better situation and I think his offensive upside is a lot better than Jonas'.

Kanter, easily right now.

Kanter has the experience and shown he can play. Jonas hasn't played yet and he has struggled mightly in the Olympics right now.

Hard to say because we've seen so little from each but I think Kanter has better size and physical attributes so I'm going with him.

These are great comparisons. I think Kanter has the potential to be a 15 & 12 guy while Jonas has the potential to be 13, 10, & 2 guy. Neither will be superstars but both will be really solid starters.

Hmmm interesting you guys are sticking with Kanter after his non awe inspiring 1 season. He doesn't really have a pretty game watching him in Turkey I don't actually see him as having exactly high potential but I do believe he can become serviceable in this league.

He didn't get to play basketball during the '10-'11 season due to some issues with the NCAA and came into the NBA in a season that was delayed due to the lock-out and had no off-season training programs or training camp. Not to mention he was playing in the same front court as Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, and Derrick Favors. He showed glimpses of being a productive player he just needs more minutes and to develop his game more.

One non-awe inspiring season (which was pretty good for a young big guy) is better than nothing at all from a guy who can't compete in the Olympics.
