Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey are about to enter their all-important third season with the Bills. There is a great deal of excitement surrounding this season, particularly with the addition of Mario Williams - anything less than making the playoffs will be a disappointment. Buffalo started out quickly last year at 5-2, including a win over the Patriots that snapped a fifteen game losing streak. However, injuries and lack of depth led the Bills to close out the season 1-8. One of the biggest battles to watch for during the preseason will be at left tackle. Chris Hairston will be battling second round draft pick Cordy Glenn. The wide receivers are another position to keep an eye on. There many questions as to who will be the starter across from Steve Johnson. Donald Jones, Marcus Easley and rookie T.J. Graham are names that are in the mix. Hometown hero Naaman Roosevelt will need a solid camp to maintain his roster spot. Fans are hoping for a big improvement on defense with the promotion of Dave Wannstedt to defensive coordinator and the singings of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson. With Kyle Williams a Marcell Dareus in the middle, Buffalo's line could be a force this year. Kelvin Sheppard will be at middle linebacker - it will be interesting to see how he progresses. Many fans will also be excited to see Buffalo's number one draft pick Stephon Gilmore in action...
So who's ready for some football?

Can't believe I did not see this thread yesterday, I was about to yell at JB for not posting the game day thread yet, haha.
Dareus led this team with 5.5 sacks. That will not cut it. Hope Mario and Mark make a much bigger difference. _________________

I saw that too and had to laugh. We had 29 sacks total and 10 were in the Redskins game more than a third.
The good thing that I saw at camp with the push up the middle from Dareus and Williams. I think they will benefit from not getting the double team. Also the depth this year is amazing. DE: Williams, Anderson, Kelsay, Merriman, Carrington, Moore. DT: Dareus, Williams, Troupe, Sp. Johnson, Edwards. Solid 10 or 11 guys right there. I know they all might not make the squad but none the less having the depth this year will be key in my opinion shuffling in fresh bodies and hopefully keeping everyone healthy.
I know our oline might not be a good judgement and I dont think the Skins are much better but it will be fun to watch them against another teams oline see if they can continue to dominate. _________________

Good call, I forgot to mention that. 19 sacks in fifteen games is really terrible. _________________

I've been waiting to see jb game day threads for to long, and you did not disappoint. I so drank the nix/gailey punch and bought seasons so really looking forward to being there this year.
From the starters:
Fitz not touched, fred back to form, move the ball to at least a chip shot field goal.think that's fair for one or two drives.
On D I would like to see pressure from front 4, and some nice run stuffs, obviously no points.
Everyone else:
Don't care about backup qb it's getting enough attention as it is. Be looking at tank nigel and brooks. I believe all were steals, down the road all three could see starting roles.
Easley and graham will be who I'm concentrating on the offensive side.
Didn't mention glenn or gilmore because I think they'll be fine and are already starters.mind you this year glenn may start in a guard position. _________________ ADOPT A BILL 2011

Looks like C Eric Wood isnt going to play until Aug. 25th vs Pittsburgh
| Quote: | With the slow and methodical approach the Bills are taking with Eric Wood coming off offseason ACL surgery, the team’s starting center is not expected to play in the team’s first preseason game Thursday against Washington.
Bills head coach Chan Gailey told Bills Digest that it’s likely Wood won’t see preseason game action until the team’s third preseason game against Pittsburgh on Aug. 25th. |

Injury free indeed!
Looking forward to this game, not just because it's the 1st of the season. We revamped a significant part of our D and it will be interesting to see how they perform vs. your Redskins. Also, even with the issues you guys had at the safety positions last year, I totally respect the Skins' D and it will be a good test to see how our offense, especially our OL, is doing. |

If Mario gets a sack and the 1st team offence drives the field and scores a TD i will be satisfied. Either way i am beyond excited for the season! _________________

Can't wait to see Gilmore and Williams. See if they can be our CBs of the future. If they have a great season then I could see us with a top 10 defense. Gilmore has been compared to Revis recently so he has high expectations. _________________
