I'm still waiting for someone to show me where the NCAA regulation states that behavior is an athletics violation. Considering the NCAA regulation is based exclusively around athletics, not law enforcement, I still don't feel that it had the authority to enact any punishment at all since legal issues are not within its purview. |
This. They just gave in to the pressure of the media. _________________

Entire?

Entire?
Now, don't you think that's hyperbolic?

Anyways can you give us some more insight on Silas Redd's game?[/size] |
Shifty is probably the best word to describe him. Not a super tough runner, but he can definitely go through the tackles. Lacks top end speed, but that's a big w/e considering he's great at making people miss in the open field. Certainly is athletic.
Pass blocking needs work, not great at picking up on blitz's. There's no evidence to support him being a good or bad pass catcher. _________________ I'm a closet Vanderbilt fan.

Yeah that was an exaggeration, but a lot of high profile people within the football program, athletic department, and university did their best to cover up for Sandusky which can't be handled lightly. _________________

Stepping away from the impending argument over whether or not Penn St.'s NCAA-given penalties were valid, or if it was worse than ours two years ago or not, I'm pretty sure Jarvis Jones transferred. He could have been our next great LB.
On a side note, obviously you'd hope that every athlete honored their commitment but I honestly didn't see any sympathy for us when we got our punishments. _________________

Jarvis Jones transferred a while ago, put up 13.5 sacks last year, was a first-team All-American and will likely be a first round pick after this season. Shame the doctors wouldn't clear him, but it's good to see he's doing well for himself and he still has love for the Trojans from what I've read. _________________

It's a travesty that we're not ranked in the top 2. But whatever. Once we go perfect, we'll be #1. _________________

Some of the things I'm interested to see unfold at USC's fall camp.
~ Who wins the #2 QB spot on the depth chart.
~ Who wins the starting tight end spot.
~ How Aundrey Walker looks at LT.
~ Who wins the other DE spot opposite of Wes Horton.
~ Who wins the starting NT spot.
~ Who wins the starting SS spot. _________________

Nelson Agholor is changing his number from #83 to #15. Not really a fan of either number, I wish he would've rocked #13 or #19, but it doesn't even matter. _________________

Soma Vainuku has been impressive in the first two days of camp. Apparently both D.J. Morgan and Buck Allen have put a lot of work in the weight room and have both transformed their bodies. It's good to hear that our backs other than McNeal and Redd are looking impressive.
I think D.J. Morgan is a guy that's going to surprise a lot of people this season. He has the physical talent he just needed to get stronger and learn to play smarter with the football. _________________

I like him, but I don't see it. Barring injury, I just don't envision him getting a whole lot of touches. _________________
