This may have legs, but it is unconfirmed, so take it with a grain of salt. However, I've seen a few different reports floating around over the last 2 days about this. And now, with Antonio Brown getting an extension while Wallace holds out, it may have legs.

So it begs the question....would you? And at what price? Wallace is a restricted free agent with a first round tag, which can obviously be negotiated down should the Steelers be willing to accept reduced compensation. _________________

I think it would be overkill.
Wallace is going to want top 5 money - when he isn't.
Dez contract is up in 2 years. It assures that we pretty much don't re-sign him.
I just think it's spending a lot of money in one area that isn't a weakness. _________________

Seems ridiculous. He would be great to have but it all depends on price. _________________ R.I.P. Nikolas and Brian you will truly be missed.

I'd pass. He wants a contract worth more than what Larry Fitzgerald received, and as good as he is, he isn't worth that much money. _________________

I'm going the other way and saying YES! IF, the contract is doable and not some ridiculous number. Reason being, there is no such thing as overkill at skill positions. Just ask the Iggles who are in talks with none other than Plaxico Burress. They already have a very talented WR core in Maclin, Jackson, Avant and Celek. Add Burress to that mix and they are loaded for bear.
Dez gets hurt a lot and Austin's hamstrings cannot be trusted. If either of them go down for any significant amount of time (remember a hammy is usually 4-6 weeks), we are screwed at that position. We will be struggling to compete with the NYG and the Iggles WR's as it stands now.
No, if Wallace is available and we can get him, by all means pull the trigger. |

I can't really imagine Dallas wanting to take on Wallace with his contract demands and with Dez also needing to be reupped soon. Wallace and Dez on the outside with Austin in the slot would be LETHAL though. _________________

First, I don't think Dez will get suspended which is the entire premise of the article. Second, the Cowboys have another $5M cap penalty next year. Third, what make Wallace deadly is Roethlisberger's arm and willingness to wait that extra second, take the big bit but still deliver the ball. Based on those 3 things, I don't think Wallace would be as good in Dallas as he is in Pitt and I don't think Dallas has the money to sign him to a big extension with the cap penalty. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

There are rumors out there that he could potentially be had for a 4th.
I would certainly give a lot of consideration to it. The guy is a stud. Fitzgerald money might be a little high, but it's not that much higher than he's worth. _________________

Heard he is now looking for V-Jax money, which is much more reasonable _________________

Here is my thoughts on this. If the asking price was right and he came down drastically on his contract asking price, then I would be all for it.
The downside is, he will stunt the growth of some younger guys that we have on this squad. I would prefer to see what we have first.
Secondly, would he fit the in with Garrett's plan. Garrett is building this team in the right fashion, through the draft. We are getting younger, stronger, faster, more athletic in all area's of the squad. Young guys are hungry and eager to contribute. They have the right kind of attitude. They are Garrett's RKG's. Is Wallace an RKG? IDK if he is. _________________

No thanks. Not enough balls to go around with Miles, Dez and Witten already here. Someone will beotch about not getting involved in the offense and it will create locker room tension. The last thing we need to hear is "Romo plays favorites" right now. _________________

edit- Do you mean that picking up Wallace would mean we can't resign Dez? |
