It all starts with Gabbert, his footwork has improved a ton, he seems more conifdent, stands taller in the pocket (still need to see it against rushers), and anyone talking about a qb controversy should just stop. It's not close at all.
- Receivers are still trying to get in sync. Better today than yesterday. Laurent Robinson is clearly the top guy. Runs crisp routes but, Mularkey seems to think he is pressing a little too much. Might be him trying to do too much since Blackmon isn't there. Cecil Shorts made a few nice catches after an ugly drop on a post. Mike Thomas is meh. Lee Evans looks ok.
- Defense should be very good again. Started 11 on 11 with a pick 6 (Landry picked of Gabbert). Aaron Ross and Derek Cox both looked pretty good in coverage. Mike Harris (6th round pick from FSU) had a good day. Made a nice pass break up on an out route. Branch looks like the real deal. Quick off the ball and has a strong punch but, I'll reserve judgment until the pads come on.
- Anger....GOAT
- The rbs is hard to judge without pads but, Jalen Parmele caught my eye. He showed some burst on a few outside runs. |

Dont get me wrong, its time for Gabbert to shine or ship out, but I will support him fully in the offseason without question. Nothing matters until the real games start

Blaine Gabbert - I've heard he has made tremendous progress and is basically a different player. Sounds like he has captivated the team too.
Rashad Jennings - I've heard he has looked good. Good burst, smart, showing no signs of any lingering issue. MJD will be back to play, but Jennings sounds like someone we could rely on.
Laurent Robinson - Best WR, but it sounds like he has been a bit inconsistent so far. Not sure if that will be a lasting issue or if it's just because that's per the usual at the start for a lot of receivers.
Eben Britton - Doesn't matter much until pads go on. Haven't heard much other than he looks like he has nothing bothering him.
Andre Branch - Sounds like he is going to be the real deal. Again, doesn't mean much right now, but it's good to hear.
Rashean Mathis - Has been limited.

I'm pretty sure Rashean isn't a full go yet. Everything I've read says Laurent Robinson is the real deal and is playing like he has something to prove - but that's not my opinion because I've seen nothing.
Britton looks like a hobo.
