It's waiver for the start of the season/finalizing of the teams and there's nothing I can do about it...I checked.

Yahoo has a few quirks when it comes to commish abilities.
We had a waiver processing issue in baseball. I wrote yahoo an email (along with thousands of others I assume) and they eventually made a change to their site.

Yep, like M1KE said. I drafted Smith and got DeCoud instead
