inspired by PrplChilPill, this is a thread to suggest personnel moves that are out of the box, and to discuss their pros and cons.
#1 - Trading Joe Webb.
pro- good get decent value, Sage could be #2 for 2-3 years
con- lose mobility at backup QB position, many fans would not be pleased _________________

Ironic thread, i just posted this in the News forum
| Quote: | | Sage Rosenfels might be available. He is no lock for the #3 job in MN. Actually, I wouldnt mind seeing the Vikes trade Joe Webb to the Cards. Webb just doesnt fit the Vikes offensive system it appears, he has really struggled to pick it up, but I think he could do some good things throwing to the targets he would have in AZ. I am not sure if Webb would even be available in a trade, but i cant imagine he wouldnt be if it was the right deal. Might be a long year for Cards QBs given the Oline woes, it would probably be ideal having a good athlete like Young or Webb back there. |

I will add another suggestion:
#2 Trading a 2nd rd pick and conditional pick (2013) for Dwayne Bowe.
Pros: Big time WR with #1 skills, would give MN a nice trio of WRs in Bowe, Harvin and eventually Simpson, still young at 27 yrs old
Cons: Limited "prime" years in MN, since he is 27, will demand an expensive new contract, a 2nd rd pick and likely top 40 pick could land the Vikes a premier prospect in 2013, has been inconsistent at times |

Would fit in well, great mobility to escape constant pressure and a big time arm to get the ball down field to Fitz and Floyd. |

The point of the trade would be to pair Boww and Harvin together, and give Ponder a stong 3 WR unit. Harvin has much more value then Bowe given his age and production. I personally hope we lock up Harvin this summer and he does not play under the tag _________________

pro: if Ponder busts and Webb becomes a star QB somewhere else, Rick Spielman will be lucky to find a job as a hotdog vendor. _________________

Not too mention, Harvin is still on a rookie contract and Bowe will probably need a $50M deal over 5-6 years.
I cant imagine the Chiefs getting a 1st round pick for Bowe, if they are even shopping him, so an likely early 2nd would be decent return for them. |

I cant see us getting close to reasonable value for Webb.
Nor should we. _________________

Id probably be content with a 4th or 5th rd pick at this point, then again, would any team be that desperate to offer that. |

Trade 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks to get Darrelle Revis. He's never happy with his contract and by the looks of it New York in general, and he gives the secondary a proven, elite starter rather than forcing a guy like Robinson in there too early or making lesser guys like Carr or Bowman start.
Pros: Secondary goes from terrible and in disarray to somewhat legitimate and provides the Vikes with 2 potential shutdown corners
Cons: Destroys any chance of the Vikes rebuilding the offense for the next 2 years, leaves some holes on both sides of the ball.
...No one said they had to be reasonable... _________________

Adrian Peterson to the Jets for Derelle Revis...
Adrian Peterson to the giants for Amakamura and their first and second picks in next year's draft.
a second round pick for Dansby and a fifth _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |
