The bandit defense made a huge appearance for us in 2010, and I'd like to see them bring it back. Guys like Roy Lewis and Babs are key for a defense like this, so I'm not sure who replaces Babs.

For those of you who don't remember, it was essentially a 3-1-7. A 2012 version of it could look something like this...

Code:

                             Clemons  Jones  Irvin
Browner     Trufant            Wagner  Chancellor      Roy Lew       Sherman
                                    Guy

                                     Thomas

Do you guys think we should go back to using this? Any other "unique" packages you've seen us use?

I liked the Bandit defense, and if Pete experiments with it again this year and it works, I say keep doing it. But, like everything in the NFL if it is over used coaches will find a way to beat it.

I would swap out Winston Guy, move Kam up there and replace him with KJ. He is dynamic in that role, because he is good in coverage, he can swat down balls and rush the passer.

Plus he can lead from the front.

And we also have the Nickel package, where Kam moves down as the roving LB/S. Winston Guy will replace Atari Bigby Wink

That defense you have lined out would definitely help us. Always helps to have an extra guy on defense. Wink

i really hope we see this defense alot more this year, i loved seeing them roll out with these guys on the field

with the improvement of the pass rush and secondary since 2010 i think this bandit defense could be deadly on passing downs
