Rob Chudzinski says Cleveland Browns defense will be a hybrid of 4-3 and 3-4
BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said that he and defensive coordinator Ray Horton have talked briefly and will incorporate principles of both the 4-3 and the 3-4 defense. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

I wonder does that include a 43 over and a 52 as well? _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

I would love to see us run a hybrid that does include a 5-2. To me, this could be our best defensive alignment.
LE: Sheard
DT: Rubin
DT: Taylor
DT: Winn
RE: (Draft Pick/FA)
MLB: Jackson
MLB: Gocong/JMJ
CB: Haden/FA
FS: DRAFT/FA
SS: Ward
That's a tough group to run on and it allows us to get a lot of pressure without having to play guys out of position. |

| That leaves us with a ton of options and a ton of versatility. I think you're right in we'll see some 5-2, but I think ultimately we'll see the 2-4-5 in full effect |

what players look like they could be damn good as a 4/3 DE but could be damn good as a 3/4 OLB?
If Simon from OSU can workout great he could be a project kinda guy to fill that role. He was a great DE in college and he has been working out at OLB at senior bowl and heard some good things
but what players could play this DE/OLB roll _________________

Yep.
Horton ran alot of that in Arizona.
This is going to be so much fun to watch. _________________

Could OLB Shaun Phillips be a possibility?
Could Norv lure him here? _________________

Yep, absolutely something else I expect to see
We need one of those jack of all trades LB's to replace the CB in that 2-5-4 looks. A guy who can rush the passer, but also can drop into coverage without being a liability. Could also use a safety there as well, it's a wild card position imo that could really help cause problems |

ok those were some players I was thinking off...
actually if we are going to be a hybrid type defense I like Moore because I think he can handle being a DE at long periods and be a good OLB at long periods _________________

I think Mingo will be who we take at 6, and I'd be totally cool with it. _________________

I am not a mingo fan by any means, I feel there will be better players available... that being said no matter how I feel about him if we draft him I will rot for him _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient

The more I have watched of him, the more impressed I am. His athleticism impresses me more than any of the other 3/4 OLB prospects in this draft, and even though his numbers weren't amazing, I think his actual play and impact far exceed his stats, whereas guys like Moore I feel had much better stats than real impact. I also think at the end of the day, pass rushing is all about how athletic and how much hustle you have, and hes got the best combination. We have seen many guys with insane athletcism perform at extremely high levels in the pro compared to where they were in college.
JPP and Quinn had mediocre numbers in college, Aldon Smith struggled his last year, Watt was great but not a stat freak by any means, but graded out as one of the most athletic players in combine history etc. _________________
