I don't think we are taking a DE in the first round.

Why not?

There isn't a must have offensive player that I am aware of.

So that eliminates the franchise offensive positions of QB LT and #1 WR,

The Browns have a #1 corner already. So that leaves a franchise pass rusher.

5th in the league with 13 sacks. Pass rush is not out problem.

4th in league in INT's with 6.

Biggest thing on D that needs fixed is stopping the run which I doubt is what you guys are looking for in a top 10 pick at DE.

The majority of our troubles are on the other side of the Ball.

So who do you think then?

Not many offensive players ranked up top right now...

It's 6 months till the draft...around this time last year everyone was projecting Alshon Jeffery as a top 5 pick and no one knew who Dontari Poe was. Things will change drastically between october and april.

Couldn't disagree more.

Sack numbers are there, but consistent pressure is not. No rush from RDE is allowing every QB we face to pick is apart.

A bell-cow RDE is what this team is missing more than anything. There are developmental pieces at almost every position except there.

I would honestly have no problem taking Werner top 10

Rucker is getting ok pressure imo and is absolutely beasting in the run game. He is putting on a clinic every week on how to play gap control football on the outside. I'd love to see a marcus bernard type to spell him in obvious passing situations but taking a RDE to start in his place would be a mistake IMO. Don't take that as me being against a DE early because I would be all in favor of a Bruce Irvin type in the first who can be a monster when he can pin his ears back early in his career as a 3rd down specialist and learn from Rucker how to control the opposing OT in the run game over a few seasons and then take over once Rucker retires/slows down.

That and Shread Winn Rucker and 1st Rnd RDE together on 3rd downs would be nasty.

If we wind up somewhere in the top 3, I would like to see the new ownership maneuver out of that pick into the early teens to grab the best DE/CB/FS available. This way, we stockpile picks and add more developmental pieces to our young team. Sometimes you've got to lose before you win.

Unless Bradford bites the big one and the Rams decide they want to trade both their 1sts and their 2nd to move up for a new QB Im not sure I want the Browns to trade down this year.

Draft an elite player and walk away smiling.

I think you may be right. One of those tall corners might get drafted if we are not picking in the top 5.

Our two biggest problems on offense:

1. Lack of chemistry and experience.

2. Our guards

The Giants pass rush was one of the best in the NFL and they still drafted Kiwanuka in the 1st and then it was still one of the best and they drafted Jason Pierre-Paul in the 1st, so don't tell me just because we have 13 sacks that we won't draft a DE in the first round.

I see it the same way PMK does. Rucker has been great.
