With our Legacy Class having been officially inducted, we will now begin the voting process to select our next class of inductees into the DC Forum Ring of Honor.
To begin, please nominate five candidates who you feel are worthy of selection. Nominations will be taken until August 30th.
The top five vote getters will move on. Only four living members will be inducted into the actual class from this list.
With that said, please post your top five nominations for induction. _________________

In no order....
- TheStarStillShines
The original Cowboys Mod. Steadfast. When the Cowboys forum was more akin to the wild-west, he was the sheriff that kept everyone in line. His accolades speak for themselves. He is the picture of consistency. I can think of no greater honor for one who has served for so long.
- The_Slamman
Excellent orator. Dynamic poster. One of the greatest champions this forum has ever seen. A standard barer of the old guard. Never backs down from a fight. Believes in elevating the conversation of the debate. Underrated poster.
- Matts4313
One of the funniest guys around. Constantly tries to energize the forum with articles and commentary. Perhaps the individual who has gone to the greatest lengths to try and generate conversation in this forum.
- plan9misfit
Fierce poster. Challenges opinions and forces you to consider whether or not you actually believe what you are saying. Logical and critical. Is unwavering in his beliefs and is more than happy to play devils advocate. An invaluable asset to the forum.
- Desperado82
I personally think the best poster we have. He is charged with not only keeping us in line but the whole FF. His hardworking and insightful posts have not gone unnoticed and in a short time he has risen to incredible heights.
Man. That was rough to limit to just five. Lot's of great posters. And lot of young up and comers. _________________

I'm providing a list (excluding myself) of 5 of the longest tenured posters as my nominees. They've been there, done that, seen everything, missed nothing, and are all fine, fine candidates.
TSSS - October 2004 (he has me beat by 17 days as the longest tenured member of the Cowboys forum)
textaz - November 2004
Matts - December 2004
NYFDB - January 2005
Slamman - February 2005 _________________

If I have to only nominate 5 guys it has to be.
TSSS - The Original Mod. The Man with the Badge. The man with the best name in our forum. He was the George Washington of our Forum. Even if he is Canadian, he still deserves to be inducted.
Slam - His wit is unmatched. He is the man, the legend. He has managed to troll more people than we can count. He was the defender of Romo in the NFL Forum at one point. Yes the same DCRA Slam, defended Romo. Still he is one of the best at articulating an argument and pounding his opponents into submission.
Plan9 - While he has poor taste in movies, Plan has been a mainstay in this forum. He is someone that will post in the good, the bad, and the ugly. He is a guy who isn't afraid to speak his mind and incite great discussion with his views. He is the leader of the DCRA and a founding member.
Matts - While Matts has a wierd obsession with Favre's pics and midgets, he is one hell of a poster. He is someone that constantly pushes to get discussion going in the forum. He is the yin to Slam and Plan's yang.
TO7 - Former mod, someone who has really tried to change the culture of the forum back to the old gloryhole days. He is someone that gets overlooked because of his old man Reagan speeches, but brings unmeasured value to our forum. _________________ R.I.P. Nikolas and Brian you will truly be missed.

I know we were asked to nominate five members from the Dallas Cowboys forum, but I would like to place my nomination for just one member; Like for the regular Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor selection is such an honor that I would like to just name one for now. TSSS was the original poster as many have stated before. He was the sole member who had me wanting to join, because of his quality posts. While, it may show that I joined in August, 2008 I use to have another username of JJones21 that most might remember me by which I created in February of 2005. Throughout the years TSSS has stuck with the forum and continued to produce quality posts and also be a quality person to whom ever joined. Thank you for all you do around here and I hope other agree with me to the point to which you are inducted. _________________

Geez, this is going to be hard. Tenure is going to have to factor into this along with quality. So with that:
Plan9Misfit - The original "bad boy", by that I mean he's not afraid to speak his mind and just call it as he sees it. He's also one of the founding members of the Lynn Scott fan club, which has expanded its members to maybe 3 or 4.
Textaz - One of my fellow moderators and one of the original members of the forum. Funny, consistent, solid, and a patriot - not just for serving in the armed forces but also for being a Cowboy fan in Eagles country.
Slam - Articulate, funny, objective, and one of the masters of the "pic-and-post" (i.e., using images in his messages).
HtFryar - Another long-time poster, who has helped created a welcoming environment. Consistent and provides great analysis.
Texas Outlaw 7 - He's the unofficial deputy here, at least early on. He helped all the mods, including myself, manage this forum during its infancy. Great all around poster and a guy who rarely backs down. _________________

TSSS - The original Mod and longest tenured member. He has put up with so much nonsense from us members and never gets as much credit as he deserves.
Matts - He is one of the funniest and most active posters on here. He takes all of our jokes in stride and never loses his cool. He is our forum MVP. Without Matts, we wouldn't have midget strippers.
Slam - He is a great poster and can argue with the best of them. Some of you may not know it, but Slam is actually a really good guy. He was one of the guys I reached out to when I was going through my divorce and he was there with free legal advice. But, since I lost the custody hearing, maybe that isn't as much of a plus as I thought.
T_O7 - He's a former Mod and Deputy of the forum, who tries to keep the peace. He and I have had discussions via PM about how to get the forum back to where it was before the factions dominated seemingly every thread. He is a dedicated poster who wants the best for this forum.
TexTaz - He is a Mod, a soldier, a great poster and an all around good guy. Being a fellow gun nut and hunter, he has as much keen insight about football as he does about things that interest me outside of this forum. He is one of the best posters in the history of this site. _________________

How am I supposed to choose only 5?! And then only 2 get in! This is a near impossible task with the quality of posters we have on this forum and will be for the next 5 years with the low number of posters going in each year.
I think we need to amend the rules of this. The initial class needs to be larger. There are alot more than 2 members who deserve to be first ballot guys. I propose nominations of ten with 5 posters inducted into our initial class. This can be repeated next year and knocked back down to 2 for year three. This will also give us more votes when the Forum Ring of Honor chooses another inductee which will eliminate favoritism in voting. (We all know how Matts, Ht and Slam are with fantasy football)
Anyone else think this is a better way to begin our Forum Ring of Honor? _________________

I've got it narrowed down to 7 people.
Here's the criteria I'm using (in order):
1. Quality of posts
2. Activity level
3. Longevity with the forum
4. Memorability of posts
I'll narrow it down to 5. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...
