Sorry to see Gino go. I hope Gil Santos stays though. He may not be as sharp as he once was but he is still a legend and he will always be THE voice of the Patriots.

I always preferred to listen to Gil and Gino over the TV broadcast dopes, but the errors like saying the wrong player's name or saying a pass was complete when it wasn't were increasing every year. I'd say its time to get a fresh voice in there, but their voices will always be linked to those great playoff and Super Bowl victories.

That's why i wanted them replaced for years... i cant stand all those errors year after year, they make so many mistakes it's just annoying to listen to them.

Not saying they didn't do a good job over the years either, but i find them annoying aswell.

At least Gil Santos is still doing play-by-play, I hope. I really don't want to lose both in the same year, even though their mistakes were egregious at times. Zolak in the booth would be great for commentary and likely keep Santos sharp. I'd be all for that duo.

Growing up listening to him it's a bummer, despite the errors and the obvious mistakes he still was a great commentator. I'm not comparing it to TV, but I'm disappointed he's gone. Time to move on though, good luck to Zolak.

This makes me think about how much longer Tommy Heinsohn has in him. That guy will be rolling over in his grave when moving picks and loose ball fouls are called against the Celtics.

Laughing

Pierce could shank someone on the court, and he would defend him.

"SO PIERCE CAN GET SHANKED BUT HE CANT SHANK ANYONE? THIS IS A DAMN SHAME, THIS GUY HAS IT OUT FOR THE CELTICS. HE WAS TRYING TO SHANK THE DAMN BALL FOR CRYING OUT LOUD"

They should have a different replacement every year until Tom Brady retires from playing, at which point he can be the next "permanent" color commentator.
