It's a bittersweet day, a day to recognize the excellence of three great members but also a day to remember who they were. It was an honour and a privilege to be the one asked to write Brian's induction speech, and I hope I did him justice.
And to Matts and Plan, great jobs with your speeches. I realize that it was probably more difficult for you to write them given that you were extremely close with both Nick and Mike.

Longevity matters. T14, B2TB, and SA were all here in the early stages. But not were they just long-time posters, they were outstanding posters and individuals. I don't think Plan is trying to campaign for his induction, but he's just citing a fact - that T14 was one of the original members of this forum.

I would've nominated you, but you do have "Eagles" in your location, so I just couldn't do it. You know that you're one of the better posters around here and make me laugh regularly, but hey, even I have standards.

That's exactly it. Longevity does matter because it shows a number of things: 1) that the poster respects the forum enough to stay, 2) that his fellow posters respect him enough to encourage to keep posting, and 3) that his opinions matter to others. Those are all pretty important things if you ask me.
