What do the Eagles mean to you?

So I was thinking about sports in general and how I think sports is a really awesome platform in life. It allows people to do amazing things with all sorts of people and barriers are broken down ever day.

That lead me to the thought, what does the Eagles football team mean to you? Are they just your favourite team or are they more? It's hard to say during the offseason but during the season do you go as the eagles go? Let's have your thoughts!

From a personal perspective, I feel as though I fall in the extremely passionate fan category. I talk about the Eagles to other football fans (mind you, Philadelphia is across the country from me), I have Eagles memorabilia in my apartment and on my car, and I frequent websites related to them (including this forum) every single day. I've also watched every single minute of every single game for the past 6 or 7 seasons (while being a fan of them for over 10+ years total).

From an outside perspective, I've been accused of being too committed to something that is out of my control (the outcomes of games), for which the actual people involved (players, coaches, FO) don't care about me personally. But I reply to those people who charge with me that accusation with a simple "to each their own."

The Eagles are and always will be my favorite sports team. I have loved sports since I was youngster, so it is a vital part of my existence.

Having the ability to name a bunch of AMAZING players from the 50-80s that no one would ever have heard of. That is what the Eagles mean to me. Oh and about 25-50% of life.

Anger/Frustration when they lose.

Happy day and mocking a friend who's a Redskin fan, when they beat the living snot out of them on MNF, and general happiness when a win occurs.
