I always rock a case. The phone could be made out of paper and I wouldn't know lol.

And Yankee,I don't think it's going to help man, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I never get group messages but Google searches yield no answers? I've never looked it up.

Why not just use Hangouts? It has group messaging. And it's been a standard feature since 4.2, I believe.

I used a case on my S3, but that's cause I dropped it one time and the sides got scratched up. I don't have one for my N5 because it looks best without one, IMO.

Do you mean that everyone has iPhones and when they do group chat they get it all on iMessage, while you get it as individual MMS messages?

You should go Moto X/Nexus/Any device with Android 4.4 and try this.

Get Hangouts, use that as your default SMS. Then make a hangout and select all the phone numbers of the people who are in this group chat. That way when they message it comes to that one Hangout.

I also Googled it and a reddit user:
"Yes. In fact, I can confirm that if an iMessage user send a group chat to several iPhone users and you are the only Android user, Hangouts will group the text messages for you."

Looks like I was wrong in my claim LOL. Like I said though, I don't get involved in group messages often. There's been a couple (like Merry Xmas mass texts I got) and it said I have to download the message or whatever but once I did I just wound up deleting it so that's where I was basing my info off of.

I love Hangouts though. Wish it was a little faster and more customizable but whatever, it's solid.

Yes, that's what I mean. My mom loves sending group messages. Didn't know that about hangouts.

And the entire dlna finished and then there was some error during installation. Ugh.

That's weird. Try it again? My install went through perfect and then all I had to do was wipe the cache and it runs flawlessly.

Just heard about the Moto G, it's $179 off contract and I read that it will be sold very soon by Best Buy off contract for $99. Seems like a great deal for me.

Damn, for real?? That's not a bad deal at all. It obviously doesn't have everything Moto X does but that's still pretty solid and the price is fantastic. It will at least give you an idea if you like Android now-a-days and then, if you do, you could always upgrade.

Yeah I think the $100 phone is with Verizon prepaid.

Great if you cant afford post-paid plans or are strapped for cash.

Also no LTE.

Last but not least, got a family member the Moto X. Boom. Though he is coming from an S3 so im hoping the camera doesnt suck all the balls.

Yeah, the downside to the Moto G on Verizon is no LTE, so you'll be stuck with EVDO (really slow). Still hard to be a $100 off contract.

I've been doing some research and the rumors are that the S5 will have 4GB of RAM and be made out of aluminum. That's one of the problems with being an iPhone user, you get spoiled by the 1st class build quality. I've held Android phones in my hand before and I currently have a BlackBerry. The plastic phone just feels extremely cheap. It doesn't feel like a premium device at all. So those S5 rumors are music to my ears.

My S4 feels sweet. Idk what your deal is but I love it naked.

well I was reading something that talked about S4 might becoming out with a full metal body version

After doing some research the phone I think I most want is the HTC One. I need to look at how much I can get it for off contract from Ebay or Craigslist.

No LTE on the G? Yeah, that'd be a deal breaker. I was unaware of that.

Anybody have any suggestions on a really good phone that's not super expensive off contract? I want the Nexus 5, but it has to be a Verizon phone. I want the HTC One, but it's $499 off contract.

Any deals going on or sites where it can be had cheaper? I would prefer a new phone over a used phone. Checked Ebay for the HTC One and it's over $500 on there.
