Who seems to have the upper hand? What are your projections for each this season? I heard Ridley just hurt his hamstring so hopefully that's not too severe. | I don't think we'll know until week 1, unless one of the two really struggles through the remaining preseason games [or gets hurt].
They both looked very good against the Saints. _________________

Don't take Patriots running backs in fantasy. |

I have no idea what is happening Vereen - he's been ALL OVER THE PLACE in camp. I can't imagine the fact he doesn't run between the tackles effects what we wanted to do with him - because he wasn't that player in college either. He could be anything from a locked in starter to a being on the roster bubble. _________________

| Yikes, that leg injury to Ridley could open the door for both Vereen and Bolden |

Apparently Ridley was ready to come back into the practice, but they left him out for precautionary reasons. _________________

Last year Brandon Bolden...this year Zach Sudfeld! |

Ebner with two picks today. That makes four over the last four practices, I believe. If I remember correctly, he didn't have a pick yesterday but had a big PD. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

Three roster predictions by the ESPN Boston guys:
http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/8278395/new-england-patriots-53-man-roster-projection-v-30
Some interesting points:
All have 5 RBs, but no fullback or 3rd TE.
Gaffney, Stallworth, and Branch each appear on two of the three.
None of them have Waters but all have Vollmer.
Brace and Deaderick on each on two of three. Reiss keeps both.
Niko Koutouvides and Jeff Tarpinian are on all 3.
They all seem to assume Dennard to IR.
Ebner is on all three (see previous post). _________________ Shut up, NBT |

I think it's actually five picks. |

He's been a lock in my mind for a while, so that's not surprising. If Spikes misses time, we'll probably see Carpenter at Sam and Hightower in the middle. With Fletcher gone, I think Carpenter is the clear #4 LB. _________________ Shut up, NBT |

I dont see how Branch or Stallworth make it over Gaffney and be higher on the depth chart unless they think he'll be used sparingly because of the hammy. And Rivera is on one :/ No one wants a Kansas guy. Pierce fills the quota for all teams. Also hate 4 CBs when Dowling has had health issues and Moore can play S. THough if we carry Barrett and Ebner I'd assume the LB ST will be replace by the extra S. _________________

They don't have anyone else. They have 3 special teams only guys in Tarpiniain, White and Koutouvides and Mike Rivera who is a total unknown. I have yet to see, in 2 camps, anything from Tarpinian that indicates he can be an adequate backup LB (though he does seem to have the tools). |

If Spikes misses extended time, I'd hope they'd move Ninkovich to SAM, Hightower to MIKE and insert Scott, Fanene or Cunningham at LE. Not ideal, but Fanene and possibly Cunningham are better DE's than Carpenter is a LB |
